Capital One Shopping & Offers: Earn 30x miles or 22.5%-50% cashback at Viator

15

A few months back, Capital One Shopping and Capital One Offers started offering a deal of the day: a retailer where the rewards are greatly increased for 24 hours. We’ve seen some superb deals in that time, although for the past week or two the eligible retailers have been less interesting than normal.

Today is much better though as Viator is the subject of the latest set of enhanced rates. As always the rates are targeted, but I’m already seeing rates of 30x miles and 22.5% cashback myself, while Greg’s been lucky enough to get an offer for 50% back.

Capital One Shopping Viator 30x

The Deal

  • Earn 30x miles or 22.5%-50% cashback (or more) at Viator via Capital One Shopping and Capital One Offers.

Key Terms

  • Expires December 30, 2025.

Quick Thoughts

As mentioned above, the rates you see on Capital One Shopping and Capital One Offers are targeted. That’s not only in terms of targeted from person to person, but the same account could see different rates depending on how you’re accessing it. For example, I’m seeing 22.5% cashback on the website and the app, which in itself is surprising as often the app has a different rate. It’s usually possible to get a better cashback rate by checking your emails from Capital One Shopping throughout the day because those usually have an even higher rate at some point. I’d figured rates might hit 40% or more at some point today, but I’m still waiting for my first email of the day from Capital One Shopping. Greg though has already been offered 50% back which is an exceptional deal.

Capital One Shopping is the shopping portal that’s available to everyone, even those who don’t have a Capital One credit card. If you do have one of their cards, be sure to check Capital One Offers too. To do that, log in to your account and scroll down to the section that says ‘Activate shopping offers’. In there you should see Viator listed; on both my account and my wife’s I’m seeing a 30x rate. If you have more than one card, be sure to click the ‘View all offers’ link, then compare the Viator rate on all your cards using the dropdown at the top. Sometimes rates will be the same for all your cards, but other times one might have a higher rate than the other.

Don’t forget that there’s a targeted Viator Amex Offer giving $35 back when spending $325 in a single transaction. That’ll stack nicely with this provided the activity you want to book costs $325 or more.

Purchased a tour through Viator today and it hasn’t shown up on my tracking yet. Any DPs on how long this takes to populate on rewards page?

Farnorthtrader

Have received 5 of these at 50% back today. Happen to be planning a trip to some pretty remote parts of Argentina, so making good use of the rebate deals

john

Heading to Argentina next month, Torres del Paine and Buenos Aires region. Any specific things you may recommend?

First time we have ever been, so not sure I can help much, We will be going to Iguazu falls first (and probably Monday Falls in Paraguay), then El Calafate for mountains, glaciers and icebergs, then Ushuaia (mostly for penguins!), then Buenos Aires and Colonia del Sacramento. Using Aeroplan to get to GRU, then cash points to IGU, then Flying Blue for the rest of the Aerolineas Argentinas domestic flights, then Aeroplan on the return. Flying Blue is a pretty good deal within Argentina. So far, have booked penguins and glaciers with this Viator deal, will book some more tonight. Strangely, outside of Buenos Aires (and even inside), Wyndham points are proving extremely valuable for hotels, with not many options otherwise

All my 70% TripAdvisor activities from the November promo have been competed and now show as pending! And 2 from Viator at 50% tracked right away and are now pending as well. These are incredible discounts. I’m considering speculatively booking some tours and then deciding later if I want to build a trip around them.

Jim

That’s awesome news! I have a bunch of pending activities upcoming thru Tripadvisor so glad these worked out as advertised. This is my deal of the year for sure. I’ll save several thousand on all my trips next year.

Been watching for a few weeks the daiky offer for 12.30.25 Viator offer on my VenX -it doesnt show but did yesterday and ita available on P2 VenX – same thing happened with StubHub earlier this month.

John

My last Viator purchase from early November via C1 shopping didn’t track (it registers as a visit but no tracking).

How do I file a claim? The C1 website seems designed to prevent anyone from figuring this out unlike with the airline shopping portals where it’s simple to file a claim.

Ditto did the Instacart offer withy VenX in the app (not the browser extn CAP1 portal that pays in GC).

Brad

Thanks for this! Exclusion language says, “not eligible for any tours or experiences tracked to the Viator Travel Agent Program.” Any idea if this will result in a ton being excluded or is there a way to check?

Thanks Stephen,

Would be curious to hear how others are using their Viator offers.
