- During the “New Year Bonus” offer, which runs from 1/16/2026 through 1/22/2026 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of up to 1,000 AAdvantage miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the base AAdvantage miles earned from shopping online through the AAdvantage eShopping mall.
- This one-time bonus award will be determined based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period using one of the following tiers: Tier 1 bonus: 400 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $200; or Tier 2 bonus: 1,000 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of $500 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles. - Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your AAdvantage eShopping account.
- The Tier 2 bonus provides the maximum number of miles that will be awarded.

You have your pick of airline portal promotions at the moment as the Alaska shopping portal still has its own offer running through Friday January 23. The best one for you will depend on various factors like which airline’s miles/points you value more, how much you’ll be spending, the base earning rates, etc. In addition to that, compare earning rates to other shopping portals in case other sites offer better returns even after accounting for the bonus miles on offer with these new promos.
A helpful feature of the United and American shopping portals – and the Alaska portal for that matter – is that they have card-linked in-store programs. Even if you don’t have any only shopping plans in the next week or so, purchases you’re planning in bricks and mortar stores might also be able to count for the spending thresholds depending on if you’ll be shopping at participating retailers.
