Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
Bank of America has increased the welcome offer on the Alaska Airlines Business card to 65,000 Mileage Plan miles + a Companion Fare when spending $4,000 in the first 90 days of card membership. That’s just 5,000 miles short of the highest bonus we’ve ever seen on this card.

Quick Thoughts
This is a very good offer. Outside of a brief period last year, we’ve only seen the bonus go as high as 60,000 miles, so getting an extra 5,000 miles for the same spend – along with the Companion Fare – is a terrific opportunity.
In addition to the 65,000 bonus miles and Companion Fare, the card offers free checked bags for you and up to six other people on the same reservation, 20% off in-flight purchases and no foreign transaction fees.
As you’ll see above, the card comes with a $95 annual fee, with the fee working slightly differently to most other credit cards. There’s a $70 fee for the company and then a $25 fee per card, hence the $95 total fee if you’re not adding any employee cards.
While Bank of America does have application rules for consumer cards including how often you can apply for them, those rules don’t apply for the Alaska Airlines business card and so you should be able to earn the bonus again even if you’ve had the card in the last couple of years.
Any dp on a 75k points offer?
$75K offer was engineered and it looks like it’s not going to be honored.
Does one get the Platinum Honors bonus on this or any other BoA mileage card?
Got it less than a week after approval to qualify for the MVP Gold 100K promo from Delta, just in time to put a number of year-end taxes on it. $95 fee posted before I got the card. I put >$4k spend to get the 65K bonus and the immediate companion pass since I’d like to use it for a trip in early 2024 … might just spend the extra ~$1k or so to get the $6k and get the 2nd companion pass, though I probably won’t have much time with status to use it. Of note, I had applied for a small biz BofA bank account to help qualify for the card and noticed I get an extra 10% miles on spend, so that $4k spend ends up being 4,400 miles.
What is up with the event employee ID field in the application? I haven’t seen this before. It won’t let me submit without entering something.
Any random 6-digit number will work, such as 123456. It’s just the field for employees to be commission on card signups.
Question on the companion pass – Do you automatically get it every year? or do you have to meet a minimum spend of $6k (after the SUB) the previous year in order to qualify for it?
I see the rules that I need to have a deposit account with them to be approved if I have gotten more than 3 new cards in 12 months. Any idea how quickly their system recognizes a deposit account? I just opened a checking account with a $200 bonus, deposited $25. Maybe I should wait until I DD $2000 to apply for the card.
The people who should be chomping at the bit to get this card are the people who status matched from high tier Delta status like Greg. With this card Greg now gets miles to use with his new elite status plus Alaska offers reasonable to free elite paid upgrades at time of booking. The last depends on fare bucket and status level. While I’m not sure how that works in tandem with the companion certificate it’s still got a lot of value.
Is there a promo code for this offer? P2 biz was approved for the 50k sub 2 weeks ago.
Damn same, any luck in getting a match? I just got two approved for 50k sub a week ago
I’ve been told they can’t grant it and that they usually don’t despite data points on DOC saying otherwise. They asked for a promo code but I didn’t see one. Not sure if that’s why.
Gotcha, my assumption is that this isn’t a public offer technically and so they won’t match. For your P2, you could probably apply again right now and not get hit with another hard pull, which would give you the 65k offer at least for the second card
Tim et al., I apologize ahead of time for this question because it is off topic. Has anyone had success with upgrading to a Ritz cc from a Chase Bountiful cc (the one with the annual fee of $250)?
No worries! I haven’t heard of anyone specifically doing that, but I can’t imagine it would be an problem (since it’s still a Chase Marriott card).
Muchos gracias!
Am I correct in assuming this is the same card Greg recommends getting to extend the status match.
Thanks
Either Alaska card will do it, but the business card is offering more miles and won’t add to your Chase 5/24 status (if you care about that).
To clarify, can you get new Alaska Business and SUB if you currently have the card, or do you need to cancel your existing card before applying for a new one?
I already have one that’s currently grandfathered to not having the $6k spend requirement for the Companion Fare, so I definitely wouldn’t want to drop that. As a SEA flyer, I could be open to getting a couple more of these over time, though, even with the annoying $6k spend requirement.
Yep, you’d be eligible for the bonus again.
I’ve had more than one at a time before.
Thanks, I have a few businesses and would like to get a 2nd with this higher bonus while staying under 5/24.
