Quick Thoughts

10x Reward Points can be redeemed for up to 25% off gas, so this is an excellent deal if you’re able to fill your vehicle(s) to the 25 gallon limit.

One of the nice features of the Just For U program is that you can also redeem your points for a discount on your groceries, although the value isn’t as good as when redeeming for gas savings. If you spend $100 on Happy gift cards you’ll earn 1,000 Reward Points which are converted to 10 Rewards. You can redeem 7 Rewards for $10 off groceries and 3 Rewards for $4 off groceries, so that option effectively saves you 14%.

Note that now it’s July 1, a lot of the Chase spending bonuses at grocery stores have ended. However, Marriott cards are still earning 6x and Hilton Surpass and Aspire cards are still earning 12x, so those continue to be good options.

I would be hesitant to encourage anyone to use an Amex grocery bonus category. Lots of negative DPs of clawbacks and points not posting
