Albertson’s in Southern California will be holding a very good promotion on Visa gift cards.

The Offer

Save $7 INSTANTLY when you buy $75 or more in Visa gift cards.

Need to Know

  • Offer is good 8/17 to 8/30.
  • Albertson’s doesn’t have a loyalty card so it doesn’t appear you need to load a coupon.
  • This discount doesn’t appear in the weekly ad, but most likely has a limit of 1.
  • During past promotions Albertson’s has restricted certain denominations. It isn’t clear if that is the case during this deal.

Update: This deal may be active at Albertson’s and their subsidiary branded stores in other areas. One reader reported that ACME Markets in PA/NJ is running the same promotion.

Albertsons DOES accept credit cards for Visa, AMEX and MasterCard gift card purchases. If a cashier tells you they do not, they are wrong. Ask to speak to a manager.

Brian

There is currently a $10 of $100 visa gift cards at Publix through their “digital coupons”. It was available for me in Florida.

Gary

If you’re planning on using a credit card to buy a visa cards at an Albertsons, good luck!

Ryan

Yes they do. I bought a $200 visa giftcard yesterday. $6.95 in fees.

Gary

I just went to an Albertson’s, which previously never accepted credit cards for VGC purchases. I was able to buy a $20-$200 card, and received instant $7 back. BTW the fee on the card is $6.95! Ouch!

Tsai

You just have make some friends at your stores, although ever since they got rid of variable cards, my friends haven’t seen me a lot : )
