In the midst of the series of massive targeted offers for the Business Platinum and Business Gold cards that we’ve been seeing lately, there is now a terrific targeted offer available for the Blue Business Plus (BBP) card as well. Those folks that are targeted will earn 75,000 Membership Rewards points after $15,000 in purchases in the first 12 months.

This is easily the best offer that we’ve seen for the Blue Business Plus. The application terms for the offer do not seem to include typical one-in-a-lifetime language, so even if you have had the card before, you should be eligible for the welcome bonus (if targeted).

The Deal

  • Earn 75,000 Membership Rewards points after $15,000 in purchases within the first 12 months after approval for a new Blue Business Plus card.

Link to log in and see if you are targeted (log-in to Amex account first, then click the link, then click “apply now”)

You will need to log-in, then click the “apply” button to see if you’re targeted. If you don’t see the bonus on the landing page and/or get a message that says something along the lines of “Sorry, this offer is no longer available”, that means you’re not targeted.

Quick Thoughts

This is easily the best offers that we’ve seen for for this card. The Blue Business Plus doesn’t usually have a welcome bonus except when applying via a referral link, and then it’s typically only been 10,000-15,000 bonus points after $5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months.

I’m a big fan of the Blue Business Plus. The card earns 2x on all spend (up to $50K in purchases per calendar year). That makes it a terrific “everywhere else” card for people who value Membership Rewards points. Also, it’s a useful backstop card since it has no annual fee but keeps Membership Rewards points alive and transferable to partners. Thus, there’s never any worry about cancelling a MR-earning card and losing points.

By meeting the terms of this bonus, you would end up with a total of 105,000 points in the first year between the normal 2x on the first $15K in purchases and the 75K welcome bonus. That’s effectively 7x MR on $15K spending anywhere over one year with no annual fee…a terrific return for a low monthly spend requirement and no annual fee.

Just fyi – I have Amex business plus credit card. Shows multiple options to transfer points delta, BA, Hilton etc…just tried to transfer 120,000 to delta and have been told it’s no longer an option. The only use is to spend the points on the amex portal!!

Any one else run into this issue ? Any work around ?

Carmelita

Does the Blue Business Plus considered a charge card by Amex?

Kathy

Wish I had jumped in earlier. It is no longer available when I click through (after logging in). Maybe it will come back.

Vince

Approved! Clicked link, then logged in and offer still showed .
Already had a existing Amex business simple cash card that never got used in past few years. When I logged in, it already had business name pre-populated. I’m assuming if you have previous business accounts with them, it’s easier to get targeted for this bonus ?

Ryan

Can a person have more than one blue business plus cards at once? For example, one under their SSN for a sole proprietorship and then another under an EIN for a LLC?

Alfred

I did two 50k offers on the same biz

Kevin Mendoza

Will the business card keep my MR points alive if I cancel my personal Amex platinum ?

Just received AMEX Plat Biz #5 (all open). I’ll keep taking 150,000 MR for $15k spend and $695 AF as long as AMEX offers. The $200 Delta airline credit has been worth $200 for us and the $400 annual Dell credits are worth at least $200. That makes a net cost of $295 per year. AMEX doesn’t like you if you don’t pay the fee at least twice, so make it $590 plus another $300 for the 2% lost on $15k spend. Long story, short: hard to beat 150,000 MR for $890 over and over and over….

For sure. I actually prefer the business plat to the personal plat since the credits are much easier to use especially of you have an actual business and hire semi-regularly.

Ceejay

Did you get all 5 Plat biz with the same SSN or EIN? and when you apply, it’s the same info for all 5? of course, with the NLL, correct? thank you!!!

I saw the initial offer page of 75k, but when I click “apply”, it says no longer available
This offer is no longer available. If you’d still like to apply for a Business Card from American Express click here.

Bob

Does AMEX still limit you to 4 credit cards (and therefore would deny me) despite having no lifetime language?

Träger

I was not targeted unfortunately
