A new, targeted Amex Offer came out this week that’s good for 10% back on up to $200 in in spend at US supermarkets.
My wife and I were 0/30 on this one; for those folks targeted, I’d be interested to know which cards you found the offer on.
The Deal

- Offer expires 12/31/24

- Limit of $20 in total statement credits per eligible Card Member.

- “Supermarket” means a standalone merchant in the U.S. primarily selling supermarket products.
- Excludes gasoline purchases and gift card purchases.

Quick Thoughts
This is a nice little deal, especially if you have a card like the Amex Gold which bonuses supermarket purchases. The terms specify that gift cards aren’t an eligible purchase, but in the past that hasn’t been enforced on similar offers.
3/3: I received 10% off grocery Store purchases with a maximum of $20 on my Hilton Aspire & Surpass, along with my Every Day card.
Didn’t get this offer on either card (Vanilla Plat and Bonvoy Brilliant), but did get a 2x on US Supermarkets (up to $2k in spend) on the Vanilla Platinum.

Same for me
You and your wife have 30 American Express cards between you? Hmmm.
If that’s the case, I would imagine that Amex has other issues with you and your spouse (and maybe a bunch of red flags…) beyond offering referral bonuses.
5 credit cards, 5 AU cards, 5 charge cards per person is a totally reasonable amount. Even more plausible if some cards are business /employee cards.
Amex allows you to have up to five credit cards and ten charge cards per person. It’s fairly common.
Also worth noting that this post isn’t about a referral bonus. It’s a targeted Amex offer for supermarket spend. Amex targets each card individually. We keep a reasonably updated list of current ones here.
Well.. fairly common in some circles. 🙂
Between my wife and I we have five Amex cards (four accounts and one AU card). And that probably is 100% more than what any of my friends/family have in their wallet or sock drawer.
I got the extra MR point offer capped at $2k on my Plat. I am glad I didn’t have to check 30 cards for offers. Seems to be a full time job 🙂
Maybe it would have been better to say “not completely uncommon.” 🙂
It’s actually fairly easy. You can just type a search term into the box at the top of the offer screen and then switch to each card. The search term stays in the box when you switch. It’s really only a part-time job!
I am not super clever about working with web pages as you describe. How about a post or something about the details on how one does this?
BTW, All my AMEX cards (OK, almost all) are on sseparate log-ins so maybe this is not possible for me, but a technique for handling offers would make a great article?
Hope so becuz I can always use some help.
Crud… they might have 10 biz plat’s between them alone at this point with the offers this past year lol
Preach it, brother.
I got $5 off of $30 at US grocery stores up to 4x on a Delta Blue card.
