Last August, it was possible to get a 100K Amex Personal Platinum offer by visiting the American Express website. The deal died, but at least one Miles to Memories reader was able to get it to show up using the directions from August. This reader was approved and confirmed the bonus with American Express on May 1, 2016.

What a tease! This is worst than porn.
[…] Frequent Miler/Miles to Memories recently suggested that the American Express Platinum 100,000 offer was back via this method, I have a pretty good way to check for all these offers (unfortunately it doesn’t actually work for applying) and couldn’t get it to show and I didn’t see any successes in the comments so I didn’t include it in the round up (I did get the 75,000 offer to show, that’s why I included that). […]
Curious to know if anyone actually succeeded in having it show up. I’m not applying but my sister might be interested.
I also saw the 75,000 offer when spend $7,000 in first three months on the Safari browser. That’s a lower spend level than I saw a few months back ($15,000 then), but more than the 100,000 offer last August (with $3,000 spend). Tried incognito several times on 2 other browsers and only got 40,000 offer. On average, how many times do you need to try it to get the 100,000 offer? I’m thinking of going with the bird in the hand (75,000). What are your thoughts?
I only get the 40k if i run it in incognito, but when I click the link normally I get the 75k offer. I’m still gonna hold out to get 100k though since its once per lifetime. no reason not to wait.
Will give it a try.. thank you!
Can you perhaps go over how to recoup the $450? or
point me to an old article on that topic?
Thank you!
Choose United as your preferred airline. Purchase Amazon or eBay (or any gift card really) from the MPX app. If you do so once now, and once in 2017 before you cancel the card, you’d get $200+$200 back.
I tried on two iPhones and iPad and several times in my laptop and it’s only the 40000 showing.
I got the 100k offer in January and February by checking out the pre-qualified offers page but I didn’t apply and it went away in March
See the 75K offer. Worth to apply?
The Mercedes Platinum 75K offer is probably a better bet than the 75K regular Platinum offer since the spend requirement on the Mercedes card is much lower. On the other hand, the Mercedes card does cost $25 more. Found here: https://frequentmiler.com/best-credit-card-sign-up-offers/#AmexMR
Thanks Shawn. About 6 months ago this method worked for me. 100k points boom.
At very least I now have a downtime hobby(opening an incognito browser page) to get the bride a Plat AMEX with 100K.
It eventually works. It’s just a matter of how much effort ya wanna apply.
