That’s right. Sign up for the JAL USA CARD MasterCard and you might get a compact desk size calendar. This is coming from First Bankcard, a division of First National Bank of Omaha. Chase, Barclays, Citi, and Amex need to step up their game!
Note: While the offer shown above is real, this post is intended to be a joke. I absolutely do not recommend signing up for a credit card just to possibly get a calendar. Well, maybe if they threw in some address labels…
Thanks go to the reader who sent this my way!
Typical Japanese style. It’s actually considered very generous there.
I think in the end, the JAL card will have the last laugh bc after all the airlines devaluation, its the JAL card and award chart most of us will want.
JALPAK over at FT would totally jump on this offer!!
These Japanese airlines are getting way too generous. ANA emailed me an ecoupon for my birthday for $20 off a flight from North America to Japan or Asia! No need to use miles with discounts like that. And there’s no limit to the number of companions eligible! If I buy 4 tickets I’ll get $80 – and that could buy several desk calendars.
Please update when they offer Toaster, need one….
Well, I applied and got approved but the calendars are all gone. I got 2nd place which is a set of Steak Knives.
I applied and missed out on a calendar as well. 2nd place was 200,000 JAL miles. But seriously, bonuses on this scale (the calendar, not the miles) are about par for what we get when signing up for affinity credit cards here in Japan.
I KNEW there’d be a great deal for Black Friday!!
What’s next free toasters?
Where was the Quickdeals email??? I feel like I missed out!
Yeah Whiskarina and Nick, it’s too bad they can’t back up this generous deal with a promise of a specific desk calendar.
I was going to bite, but then I saw the disclaimer at the bottom that said the actual desk calendar may be different from the one pictured. Too risky for me!
Darn it!!!! I just redeemed 50,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points for one.
LOL. You could have at least waited for Amex to have a 30 percent bonus on points to calendar transfers 🙂
I double dare a Boarding Area blogger to scoop up these and try to give them away at the next Frequent Traveler University during the “Everyone wins something worthless” part of the program………….Actually these could be collectors items of great value!
I didn’t want to do it, but I can’t ignore a double dare!
My heart was pumping when I read the headline. Excited to see what the new big bonus us! Haha!
GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW!!!!!!
