The Bitmo app is offering 15% off $25-$100 gift cards when using the promo code FALLVIP15. Payment is taken directly from your checking account and so you won’t earn miles, but this deal offers a good discount on a wide selection of brands.
The Deal
- Use promo code FALLVIP15 to save 15% on gift cards using Bitmo.
Key Terms
- Expires October 31, 2018.
- Limit 3 per user not to exceed $300 in total gift transactions.
Quick Thoughts
This offer might be targeted as the email I received referred to me as a VIP and that’s part of the promo code. However, it might be available to all Bitmo users.
Bitmo is different to other apps that sell gift cards (e.g. Swych, Gyft, etc.) as payment is taken directly from your checking account. That’s unfortunate as it means there’s no opportunity to earn points on the purchase, but a 15% discount will still be worthwhile for some, whether for personal use or even reselling in some cases. Some of the notable brands they sell include Airbnb, Delta, Nike, Groupon, GameStop, Hotels.com, Lowe’s and Whole Foods.
The last time I bought three gift cards from them using a similar promo code, the first gift card was issued immediately. However, the other two gift cards weren’t delivered until they debited my checking account a few days later, so be aware that delivery might not be immediate.
I am trying to set up a new account at Bitmo, but their system is screwed up, it never sends me a text or email with a confirmation code. But the promo is NOT targeted, it gave me the 15% discount, I just can’t pay for it. Even if it’s a direct debit, it’s hard to find Lowes or Staples cards for 15% off.
Great web site you got there, Bitmo. (And what a horrible name for a company, sounds like Gitmo.)
nobody is touching my checking account. even the throwaway ones. i have throwaway online accounts for venmo and paypal and other crap like that with almost $0 balance, but still wouldnt do this app. thats just me tho.
