Quick Thoughts
If you have a Costco membership, you can still get a 20% discount on Uber Eats gift cards in-store. DoorDash gift cards also went on sale for 20% off several times over the holidays.
If you don’t have a Costco membership though or didn’t stock up on discounted gift cards over the holidays, this is a pretty good offer. It works out to be a 15% bonus (or 13.04% discount) and so can be a good way to save money on these food delivery/pickup services.
There are a few things to note regarding this promotion (and others run by Bitmo). You have to sign up for BitmoPerks (which is free) in order to be eligible for this offer.
While some past Bitmo deals have allowed you to swap the gift card brand you buy, that’s not the case here. You therefore couldn’t buy an Uber Eats gift card and swap it for, say, a Home Depot gift card.
When checking out, the $15 bonus eGift card won’t be listed in addition to the $100 gift card. However, provided you’ve entered the promo code correctly, it’ll acknowledge that you’ll be getting the additional card.
Also be aware that it can take a minute or two for the bonus eGift card to show up in your wallet, so there’s no need to frantically scroll through all the cards in your Bitmo wallet looking for the $15 card. Once it’s available, you’ll see a popup in the app.
When it comes to payment itself, Bitmo accepts payment by PayPal and Google Pay (and possibly Apple Pay on iPhones). Personal Amex Platinum cards have a temporary $30 monthly PayPal benefit, so in theory that should stack with this deal. Having said that, Amex’s terms for the PayPal benefit exclude gift card purchases, so there’s no guarantee that they won’t claw back the $30 credit.
