  • Booking can include point redemption, however, point redemption value will not count towards offer minimum spend.
  • Only purchases completed through Chase Travel are eligible, “reserve now, pay later” and cancelled or refunded purchases are not eligible.
  • Please allow up to 8 weeks after completing your travel for bonus points to post to your account.

Quick Thoughts

Earning 10,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards on $400 spend is a great return, especially if your booking happens to be $500+ and you’re also targeted for the Chase Offer giving a $100 statement credit. That separate Chase Offer seems to be valid on any type of booking via Chase Travel, whereas this 10,000 bonus point offer is only valid for hotel stays.

Something to bear in mind is that hotel stays booked through Chase Travel will be regarded by hotel chains as an OTA (Online Travel Agency) booking. That means your reservation won’t earn points with the hotel chain, you won’t earn elite night credits nor receive status benefits, etc. In an ideal world, this offer is therefore best used on a stay at an independent hotel or with a chain where you don’t care about earning points or receiving status benefits, but it could still be worth booking via the Chase Travel portal rather than direct even with your preferred chains.

Mine was 20k points for a $400+ hotel. Booked and quickly received the CSP annual $50 Hotel Credit and the $100 Chase Travel Offer. I took a screenshot of the offer details and set a reminder to check for the 20K points. T&C’s say points post 8 weeks after travel is completed.

Kristin

Please note that even though you have an eligible credit card, you may not be eligible for this offer based on your account status and other factors.” – How does Chase determine who is eligible for this? I have a freedom flex and my partner has CSP, but neither were eligible for the promotion. (still, thanks for sharing!)

Any idea how to confirm with CSR that this actually is assigned to my card and valid?

I have a screenshot confirming the sign-up for the offer, but no one in their many departments can find it in my account.

Jeff

It’s a good offer if you actually get the points . I participated in the bonus offer Chase sent out in the spring to get up to 10K bonus points with 3 bookings by 5/31 through the portal. I booked 2 hotels and a car rental and got nothing. When I contacted them they said they have no record of me registering for the promo. Of course, there is no way to prove that I clicked the link to register for the offer. I never would have used the chase travel portal if not for the promo. I had the email for the promo and explained to them that is why I made 3 separate bookings in the course of a month which I never do. It was escalated to marketing and they still denied the points even though I met the terms of the offer. I would advise those that participate in this offer to try to get written confirmation you are registered and qualify before spending the money, otherwise you might get denied on a technicality..

[…] Chase’s has a few targeted promotions for booking through the travel portal:– 10,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards after booking a hotel stay of $400+ by January 31 (via email)– $100 back on $500 in spend by October 31 (via Chase Offers)These will stack, and these are (probably) both gameable. (Thanks to FM) […]

Any cons with making a cancellable booking and getting the credit?

Andrew

Stacking this with the $100 off $500 offer looks potentially great – I mentioned in a lower comment I’m targeted for 20K on hotels and 10K for any other portal booking. I’d earn 5X on the cash cost as well on a Freedom card.

All of my upcoming airfare is already booked so this is most appealing on a hotel stay. A question – if you are targeted on Freedom cards only which would have a foreign transaction fee, does that get charged the exchange fee for foreign hotels or activities booked through the Chase travel portal? I have an upcoming Canada trip with reasonable cash rates this could work out for, but a foreign transaction fee would sour it a bit.

Jeff

OTAs charge you and act as the intermediary. Haven’t used chase but every other OTA I’ve used has charged me in USD. Didn’t realize Freedom gave back 5x on travel portal, so that adds another 2.5k plus points.

Andrew

That’s good to hear, I was hopeful that prepaying in a portal would be considered a local currency transaction. I hardly use them with the frequent advice to book direct!

Yep Freedom cards and Sapphire Preferred earn 5X on Chase Travel, Sapphire Reserve gets 10X for car rentals or hotels as well (5X otherwise). The total point return is in that area where if you already have a need for a hotel, rental car, or flight it might be worth even over paying $50 – $100 through the portal to get 12.5K – 22.5K back in UR.

I received an offer for 20k points if I book a stay of $500 or more.

Samhradh

So did I. Even if just transferring to Hyatt this deal is the best of the versions I’ve seen.

Jeff

I added this to more than one card and now I forgot which. I got the better offer on all cards thro chase.com/mybonus. Is there a list anywhere I can check to see if that bonus is on a specific card? Can’t find it on chase website.

Dadbug

It’s in the fine print on the offer page.

Jeff

How can I find that offer page again?

Leo

Does anyone know if you add multiple hotel stays in your ChaseTravel shopping cart (ie 2 different nights at 2 different hotels) and checkout, will Chase post it as one charge? or will each hotel stay get charged separately? If the total of these shopping trip (ie 2 different nights at 2 different hotels) is more than $400, it should work for this offer?

Jeff

I got it but terms are different. Must spend $500. For hotel booking of $500 or more I get 20k points back! (bonus!). For flight, car, activities, tours I get 10k pts back. I got this on my Freedom, which also has the $100 offer.

Andrew

Same – more points for the hotel but can still get 10K for a flight, car, activity, or tour. Got it on my Freedom Flex that also has the $100 offer. Unfortunately P2 only got the $100 offer not this one to stack.

KLUE

P2 and I got 20k off $500 on many of our Chase cards. Used 2x along with CSP $50 hotel credit and $100 chase offer.
Chase hotels are significantly (~$100) more than similar on Hotels.com.
But we found a hotel that priced out to $501 total/night. We consider it free!

EastsideBK

KLUE, please note the fine print on the offer “only eligible if you have not purchased travel through UR/Chase Travel since 8/15/22”. So, if you’ve taken advantage of the CSP $50 hotel credit in years’ past like I have, you are probably not getting the 20k points, just the $100 Chase Offer credit.
