Starbucks has launched a new promotion today that offers a free $10 eGift card when buying a $10+ eGift card with a Mastercard. It’s due to last for five days, but it probably won’t stick around for that long.
The Deal
- Buy a $10 Starbucks eGift card in the app with a Mastercard and get a $10 eGift card free.
Key Terms
- Expires December 22, 2019 or while supplies last.
- Limit 1 per account.
Quick Thoughts
Starbucks has run a couple of deals recently where they’ve offered a bonus when buying an eGift card, but neither of those offered a 100% bonus (or 50% discount depending on how you look at it), so this is an excellent deal.
If you’re interested in this deal, you should buy it as soon as possible. The promotion is due to run for another five days, but it’ll be an extremely popular deal and so I can’t imagine it lasting that long.
Be sure to remember to pay with a Mastercard in order to get the bonus. With one of their similar recent offers, paying with an IHG Premier card didn’t work which was a shame as mine had a Starbucks Chase Offer on it. I didn’t try using it for this offer, but if you get a message saying “Delivery method must be an email address or a Facebook account”, that’ll be why.
SD says it’s now expired…you were right about the deal not lasting long!
Slickdeals reporting that this is dead now.
Ripped off. Used a Mastrcard (not IHG) and received the eGift card for $10. Where’s the other $10?
Same here. Finally went through from my app where the offer was still listed so that’s why I went for it. In the middle of contacting them now since it was still on my app.
Please post outcome. I didnʻt receive the other $10 either (assuming it should have come to my email). Canʻt check on initial yet as I set delivery for next week as a gift. Thanks.
Promised the $10 would be added to my account within 24 hours, that didn’t happen.
Response I got from them was that it didn’t qualify despite it being within the date range and on my app because they sold out. I Mean you couldn’t extend another $10…? So given the choice to cancel and I did.
How quickly do you know if it worked? I used a MasterCard through ApplePay about 30 minutes ago but still nothing.
I received both cards pretty much instantly. I wonder if ApplePay affected it?
It worked after bypassing Apple Pay. Should know better as it’s often listed in the disclaimers in many of the credit card offers.
When I tried to add the new purchased EGC to my starbucks account, it showed error message. Can any of you add them into your account?
I was able to add both earlier and combined them to an existing card. I did that manually though as I’d initially missed the ‘add to account’ link in the email.
I was able to do that 5 minites later….Maybe the system needs to process the cards. Thank you for the info.
I think you need to add the note that this is only ONE per account. I did two and havent yet received the second one.
Good point – I’ve added that in.
Done and done. Thank you sir!
Thanks for the tip. They are either sold out or there is a technical glitch with the app. Tried 4 times and each time I receive a message “Delivery method must be an email address or Facebook account”. Click on “got it” and nothing happens. Yes, I have a delivery name and an email address in the order and am using my mastercard. I know it’s not your problem Stephen, just curious to know if anyone else has the issue. I always appreciate your tips!
Are you using an IHG Premier card? If so, that’s why – that happened to me with a previous offer. Try with a different Mastercard and you should be able to check out.
Yes! How did you know 🙂 I also tried via the website (that comes up as an app.starbucks URL and received a message that they “cannot perform the update” after I entered my card. Yes, will have to track down another MC.
Same issue for me: “Delivery method must be an email address or Facebook account.”
What is that about?
I replied to Michael above about the same time you left your comment.
Wow – thanks for the tip. Wonder what Starbucks has against the IHG Card? I was using my old IHG Card and getting the error – I’d have never thought that was the issue. Thanks again!
