We don’t usually cover contests, but this one seems cool, it could be relevant to a lot of readers, and odds aren’t terrible with 4,000 winners (there is also 1 grand prize). Through a promotional / sweepstakes called Canada Refresh, four thousand Americans will receive a Parks Canada Discovery Pass, granting unlimited admission to over 80 Parks Canada destinations (reportedly a $113 value in US Dollars). One grand prize winner will get a $20,000 “sabbatical” in the form of airfare and gift card money to really experience Canada’s sights and activities.

Quick Thoughts

I don’t bother posting most contests because of the long odds of winning. However, in this case, it seems that there will be quite a number of winners and I imagine that a year-long pass to Canada’s national parks could be really appealing for some readers. I think I’ll probably throw my hat in the ring because I could see planning some family trips to national parks in Canada if we won a pass.

If you win, you might find this post helpful: Best ways to get to cities in the US and Canada using miles.

Thanks for the heads up! And a thank you to Stephen for the reminder yesterday. I’ve been considering a vacation in Canada for some time now and, even if I don’t win a prize, I appreciated the opportunity to dream a little more. I had fun with the little writing exercise too. Good luck to everyone who threw their hat in the ring!

I grew up in Calgary, so I could see the mountains near Banff from the window of my house. Definitely worth the trip!

Keep in mind, to enter Canada if you do win this Pass, you currently need to have the Covid shot if you’re not Canadian.

Thanks, Nick. My dream trip to Jasper, Banff, & Lake Louise was canceled 3x due to Covid – maybe this super nice promo could finally be it!
