Capital One Shopping/Offers: Earn 14%/8X on Turkish Airlines flights

It’s been a good week for daily deals on Capital One Shopping and Capital One Offers. There’s another decent offer today to round off the week, this time for flights with Turkish Airlines.

Quick Thoughts

14% cashback is a pretty good offer for Turkish flights considering it’s normally only possible to earn ~1% cashback on flights via shopping portals. I saw that rate in an email from Capital One Shopping; the rates sometimes increase as the day goes on, so keep an eye on your inbox throughout the day if you’d like to book any Turkish flights.

Capital One Offers – the separate shopping portal that’s only available for Capital One cardholders – also has boosted rates for Turkish today. I’m seeing 8X miles on our accounts, but those rates are sometimes targeted too, so you might see something higher (or lower). You can find Capital One Offers by logging in to your account and scrolling down to the section where it says ‘Activate shopping offers.’ Click on ‘View all offers’ and you should see Turkish Airlines listed towards the top.

Something to bear in mind is that depending on your credit cards, you might actually have rates available to you that are even better value than 14% cashback or 8X miles. For example, the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card and Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ Card both earn 8X Ultimate Rewards on travel – including flights – booked through Chase Travel℠. If you value Ultimate Rewards greater than 1.75 cents per point, earning 8X might be preferable to earning 14% cashback via Capital One Shopping, especially considering Capital One Shopping earnings can only be redeemed for select gift cards.
