Priority Pass membership is a now ubiquitous credit card perk that allows cardholders to access airport lounges around the world. Priority Pass also has relationships with some airport restaurants; access usually involves a $28 food and beverage credit for the cardholder and any included guests. Some airports, like my home base of Seattle, are blessed with multiple Priority Pass restaurants that, in general, provide better food than the included lounges.
Unfortunately, credit card issuers have been steadily hacking away at Priority Pass restaurant access, instead limiting the memberships that come with their premium cards to lounges only. In fact, not one card issued by the big four of American Express, Chase, Capital One, and Citibank includes Priority Pass restaurants.
Until now, there has been one minor exception to that exclusion: the Capital One Venture X Business Mastercard. The Venture X Business is now a Visa, and the Priority Pass that comes with it is restricted to lounges only. However, when it was first released, the Venture X Business was a Mastercard and offered a Priority Pass with restaurant access. When Capital One changed over to Visa in May of 2024, those who had the original Mastercard were allowed to keep it, and with it the upgraded Priority Pass.
Unfortunately, that’s about to change.

Reader Bruce forwarded an email that Capital One sent to Venture X Business cardholders earlier this week, stating the following:
- On Oct. 31, 2025, current Priority Pass Select memberships will expire. Please take a moment to enroll in Priority Pass Select through the Capital One Mobile app to begin your new Priority Pass Select membership.
- This expiration will occur for all Venture X Business Mastercard customers, regardless of the expiration date listed on your physical or digital Priority Pass membership card.
- As part of this change, Venture X Business customers will no longer have access to non-lounge airport experiences through their Priority Pass Select membership.
- There are no limits to the number of times you may use your Priority Pass Select membership for your complimentary lounge visits as the primary cardholder.
- Venture X Business primary cardholders will continue to receive complimentary access for two guests at Priority Pass lounges. Primary cardholders will also be able to bring more than two guests into Priority Pass lounges at a rate of $35 for each additional guest per visit.
Talk about leaving a bitter taste.

Which cards still offer Priority Pass restaurant access?
The list of major, currently available credit cards that still provide Priority Pass restaurant access is growing slimmer by the day.
Those with unlimited visits include:
- Bank of America Premium Rewards Elite
- Barclays JetBlue Premier World Elite Mastercard
- Barclays Emirates Skywards Premium World Elite Mastercard
- HSBC Premier World Elite Mastercard
- UBS Visa Infinite
That’s a pretty grim list. There are also a few additional cards issued by US Bank that offer restaurant access, but which cap the number of visits to four per year:
- Altitude Connect Visa Signature and Business Altitude Connect
- Korean Air SKYPASS Select Visa Signature
Quick Thoughts
We’ve expected this for some time, and the change probably affects a limited number of consumers. That said, my wife is one of them, and we use her Venture X Business Priority Pass in the Seattle Airport several times per year, as there’s a decent Vietnamese restaurant whose Banh Mi was a tasty to-go meal. Alas, no more.
Priority Pass restaurant access is a fairly narrow benefit, but one that can be quite valuable for folks who frequently use airports that have places to use them. We’re down to just a handful of cards that still offer the benefit, and it’s not hard to imagine that we’ll continue to see that list pared down.

I love Bambuza too! Delicious banh mis.
I have restaurant access with the priority pass from Citi Prestige. Hopefully that doesn’t go away too!!!
Well, that didn’t last long.
Unfortunately, with the rumor that grandfathered Citi Prestige cardholders will be migrated over to the Strata Elite next year (and presumably the Priority Pass membership that comes with that card product), that may be another card that will be losing its PP restaurants and experiences access
Bambuza for the win. Favorite PP restaurant to visit in the US. The USB AR CC comes with 8 restaurant visits per year too.
Probably the most commonly held card that offers at least some PP restaurant access is US Bank’s Altitude Reserve Visa which, under the latest rules, offers 8 visits a year. The card is about to be “reinvented” by US Bank and, to my knowledge you can’t apply for it right now. Given how few US airport restaurants participate, you’re unlikely to hit the 8 limit (assuming you have another credit card for regular PP lounge access), unless your home airport has one. There seem to be more participating restaurants in foreign airports, but these airports usually have a decent “regular” PP lounge, and I usually go there for speed and convenience.
Forgive me if I missed this. The email stated “non-lounge airport experiences,” which would seem to include more than just restaurants. Spas, etc
That would match the COVx, which doesn’t include non-lounge experiences like Minute Suites. Chase Sapphire does cover those.
