Citi has launched a new transfer bonus, this time offering a 25% bonus when transferring ThankYou points to your JetBlue TrueBlue account.

Citi JetBlue Transfer Bonus

Quick Thoughts

In the past, ThankYou points transferred from Premier and Prestige cards on a 1,000:800 basis. That changed a year ago when they increased the ratio to 1,000:1,000, so this 25% transfer bonus means you’ll now get 1,250 TrueBlue points for every 1,000 ThankYou points transferred during this promotion period.

If you don’t have a Premier or Prestige card, you can still transfer ThankYou points earned on Preferred and Rewards+ cards on a 1,000:800 basis. I’m assuming that this transfer bonus is applicable on those cards too; if so, it’d mean you can transfer on a 1,000:1,000 basis until October 19.

One of the things that I appreciate about Citi transfer bonuses is that they clearly state when the transfer bonus will end (Amex: please take note). With the transfer bonus ending on October 19, you have four weeks to decide whether or not to take advantage of it.

Similar to Southwest, TrueBlue points have a fairly fixed value, so even with a transfer bonus you probably aren’t going to get outsized value. Having said that, JetBlue frequently has some decent fare sales, so award flights being tied to those lower prices means you can get even further with your transferred points.
