Costco used to have $500 Southwest gift cards perpetually on sale for $449.99. Nowadays that deal comes and goes, but it’s currently back in stock online and possibly in-store too. Note that we occasionally see Costco offer these for $429.99. but not often.

Saving 10% on Southwest gift cards is a pretty good deal which can be made even better if you have an Executive membership as that gives you an additional 2% back.
Be aware that if you pay for your flights using gift cards, you’re forgoing travel protections you might get by paying for the flight with a credit card. That said, the 10% savings could be worth it depending on your risk tolerance.

Saw a huge display of cards in my local Costco. What’s amazing is that, at least in store, they don’t track the limit per membership. It rather is a limit per transaction. Make multiple stops or even just go back through the line. The only time I’ve had trouble with a purchase like this was when I did self checkout and the attendant saw me doing it.
