Reports have been trickling in today that the Chase Ink Business Preferred card is no longer earning 3x on GiftCardMall, Venmo, or Simon gift card purchases as of a couple of days ago. That’s an unfortunate development for those who had picked up on these possibilities, though not altogether surprising as banks continue to close loopholes like these.
As reported by Doctor of Credit, these purchases will still earn 1x with the Ink Business Preferred, but 3x is dead as of 2/26. While that’s certainly disappointing news for those hitting this heavily, I’d argue it is good news for those who didn’t know about these opportunities: it’s an indication that despite the constant lamenting of the glory days being over, there are always new opportunities to be found in plain sight. Most who know about this kind of opportunity will probably keep it to themselves, so the best way to find things like this is to just try them out for yourself and see what happens. In the parlance of our times: be the datapoint you wish to see.
