Update 9/27/20: Dosh has decreased the cashback rate from 6% to 2%. The limit is still $5 cashback per day, so that now works out to be $250 of spend to max it out.

Update 9/12/20: Dosh recently changed the terms of their offer for Staples and now requires that you click through to Staples from the app before paying with a Dosh-linked card. This is being enforced by Dosh and means you can no longer stack it with cashback/rewards through a shopping portal.

Dosh will still likely be your best option for cheaper purchases, but for more expensive purchases from Staples online you’ll probably be better off clicking through from a shopping portal due to Dosh’s limit of $5 cashback.

Dosh has increased the cashback rate for purchases on Staples.com to 6% which can be stacked with shopping portal rewards and bonused spend on cards offering more at office supply stores.

Dosh Staples 6%

The Deal

  • Earn 6% 2% cashback on purchases from Staples.com when paying with a card linked in the Dosh app.
  • If you’re new to Dosh, feel free to sign up using one of our referral links. We’ll earn $5 when you sign up and connect and verify your first card, but I’m not entirely sure what you’ll receive as a signup bonus. It used to be $5, then they reduced it to $1 a couple of months ago, but I’m not sure if it’s gone back up now or not.

Key Terms

  • $5 maximum cash back per day.
  • Valid only at staples.com.
  • Cash back will be deposited into your Dosh account within 30 days.
  • Gift cards are excluded from cash back offer.

Quick Thoughts

When Dosh first started offering cash back on purchases from Staples.com a few months ago, there was no gift card exclusion and you could earn up to $20 cashback per day. They subsequently added a gift card exclusion and many people had all kinds of issues getting their cashback honored for gift card orders placed before the exclusion was added. The $20 cashback limit was also reduced to $5, making the offer less enticing.

The rate Dosh offered later dropped to 2%, then it increased to 4%. They’ve now increased the rate to 6% which means that you’ll earn the $5 maximum cashback per day when spending $83.33. Now that the rate is back down to 2%, you’ll max out the daily limit of $5 cashback when spending $250 online.

While that may or may not work on gift card purchases, it’s still a decent offer for regular purchases seeing as it’s a card-linked benefit. That means you can click through from a shopping portal for cashback/rewards and pay with a card that earns more at office supply stores like a Chase Ink Cash or Ink Plus card for 5%/5x. You’ll then earn 6% 2% cashback from Dosh provided you’ve linked the payment card in their app.

Yes, it’s me with the awkward question…. Does Office Depot still work through a portal? Might be too early to know. As always, very grateful for the “heads up.”

I want to buy regular airpods, not the Pro. At $129 they fall right in the middle where they would earn $7.76 from Dosh if Dosh didn’t cap at $5. Using portal instead, TopCashback is only 3% and Rakuten is only 2% so unfortunately the Dosh $5 cap is the best.

Avoid, haven’t people learned after the last debacle.

Dan

Not showing up for me, so YMMV.

Same for me. Definitely YMMV.
