Hyatt and American Airlines have had a partnership dating back several years now and every so often they run a joint promotion where you can earn bonus AAdvantage miles on paid stays.
There’s a new earning opportunity out that can get you one bonus AAdvantage mile for every dollar spent at Under Canvas properties. That’s in addition to the 11x bonus Hyatt points you can earn on those stays courtesy of a separate promotion.

- Earn 1 American Airlines AAdvantage mile per eligible $1 spent at Under Canvas properties.

Key Terms
- You must be a World of Hyatt member, an AAdvantage member, and register for the promotion between May 1, 2025, and September 14, 2025 to participate.
- Promotion valid for Eligible Stays completed between June 15, 2025, and September 15, 2025 (“Promotion Period”) at participating Under Canvas properties.
- Member must enter a valid AAdvantage number at time of registration and pay an Eligible Rate.
- Beginning on their first Eligible Stay after registration and during the Promotion Period, members can earn one (1) AAdvantage bonus mile for every eligible U.S. Dollar spent per Eligible Stay completed during the Promotion Period. This is in addition to the five (5) World of Hyatt Base Points members would earn as their base earning.
- For the purpose of this promotion, an “Eligible Stay” is defined as any stay where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award at a participating Under Canvas property.
- Only the room occupied by the member will count toward this promotion.
- You must provide your World of Hyatt membership number at the time of booking your stay to be eligible.
- Please allow 3 to 4 weeks after check-out for World of Hyatt Bonus Points to be posted to your World of Hyatt account.
Quick Thoughts
Earning one bonus AAdvantage mile – and one Loyalty Point – per dollar spent on Under Canvas stays isn’t enough to move the needle to make a stay worthwhile. However, it is a nice little bonus if you were planning an Under Canvas stay anyway, especially seeing as there’s an overlapping promotion awarding 11x bonus World of Hyatt points for Hyatt cardholders.

They are pushing Under Canvas so hard. I made globalist year with those double nights at dream and Thompson last year. I’m not going to spend that much cash or points to stay in a tent in the summer. Phooey
This promo and the 11X promo makes me think that the Under Canvas brand is under performing. If only you could top up points with a Category 4 free night cert to use at any of the Hyatt properties.
