Qatar Airways Privilege Club wasn’t a particularly popular loyalty program for US-based readers in the past, but the fact that they’re now using the Avios rewards currency for their program will likely have piqued the interest of more people.
Now could be a great time to set up an account if you’ve never done that before because they’re offering 2,000 or 2,500 bonus Avios when joining by the end of March.
The Deal
- Earn 2,000 Avios points when joining Qatar Airways Privilege Club & using promo code JOINPC1, or
- Earn 2,500 Avios points when joining Qatar Airways Privilege Club & using promo code FLYQR3 (thanks to Eric in the comments for the heads up about this one).
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Must join by March 31, 2022.
Quick Thoughts
It looks like this promotion has been running since February 1, but I’d missed it until Troy happened to highlight the offer in a comment on another post.
It was too late for me to earn 2,000 bonus Avios as I’d already set up my new Qatar Airways account by that stage, but it did mean that we earned 2,000 points when setting up my wife’s account later on. (Update: Eric has commented below to share that using promo code FLYQR3 instead will give you 2,500 Avios.)
It only takes a minute or two to set up an account – just be sure to enter the JOINPC1 promo code in the ‘Enrolment Promo Code’ box.
If you have several family members in your household, it’d be worth enrolling all of them in Qatar’s Privilege Club. That’s because you can now link your Qatar Avios account to your British Airways Avios account and transfer Avios instantly between the two. Avios allows you to pool household Avios, so a family of five would get 10,000 Avios between them that they could pool.
the family pooling on the Qatar side is quite cumbersome — they want proof of relationship, like uploading passport, and marriage certificates. Did not look to see if they wanted birth certificates for children… Is the BA process similar or easier?
Looks dead now anyway based on comments. Regardless, it appears a member must be at least 17 or 18 years old to get a Qatar account. I tried entering my son’s 2008 birthday and it would not let me type ‘8’ as the final digit. Tried ‘7’, ‘6’, ‘5’, then it finally accepted ‘4’. And FWIW, it was requiring unique phone numbers for each account, which would have been a bit of a challenge for my family of 6 with only 3 cell phones (though I am sure I could have figured out something). Oh well, at least I got my wife and I some Avios before it died.
Thought this promotion went through 3/31/2022. But just signed up and no Avios posted…
I registered my wife and myself and none of the codes worked. Zero Avios
Indeed, worked yesterday for P1 and nothing today for P2. Sucks.
Neither Code seems to generate any avios anymore. everything goes through, but then avios balance is zero. seems like they ended the promo early.
Same here…

How many family members Can I register and pool together? Are there certain restrictions on who qualifies as a family member? Or can I register myself my spouse my kids, my parents, my sister-in-law, my brother-in-law, my mother-in-law, etc?
You can find info about household pooling here https://www.britishairways.com/executive-club/household-accounts
Up to 6 so including yourself, it is a total of 7 accounts in the household. I did spouse, kids, parents, just used the same address for all.
Use FLYQR3 for 2500 Avios
Thanks! I’ve updated the post to include that.
