Simon Malls are offering a great deal this week: Buy $150 or more in Best Buy Gift Cards and get a bonus $20 Visa Gift Card. The advertisement says October 16-29, but it wouldn’t be surprising if this ends much sooner.

The Deal

  • Buy $150 in Best Buy Gift Cards between October 16-29 and get a bonus $20 Visa Simon Gift Card.

Quick Thoughts

I can’t get the link to the terms to open (it gives me an error page – you can try here), but Miles to Memories reports that there isn’t a stated limit online (though YMMV). The Simon Mall Visa Gift Cards are issued by Metabank (PIN-enabled). The Best Buy gift card can be sold at public rates of around 90% face value (a bit better if you have a bulk selling relationship).

Rates from GiftCardWiki.com

Those rates make this a profitable deal if you liquidate the Visa Gift Card, resulting in free rewards or cash back on your credit card. It’s also a good way to save some money at Best Buy as the holiday shopping period approaches. It’s not enough of a profit to go out of your way to visit a Simon Mall — but without a stated cap, this could definitely be worthwhile if you live near a Simon Mall.
