Bottom line

These offers are an excellent opportunity to bulk up your Delta SkyMiles balance if you’ve never had these cards. That said, we have seen better offers on the Gold cards, so it might be worth holding out for a better offer down the road on those cards if you don’t need the miles immediately. In terms of ongoing value, most people would find the Platinum cards more worthwhile since they offer the opportunity to spend towards elite status (See: Delta’s $250K MQD waiver rule. What will I do? What should you do? for more on spending toward Delta status) — and the current offers on both of the Platinum Delta SkyMiles are the best we’ve ever seen, making this a good time to make a move on those cards.
