Club 1 Hotels bills itself as a global luxury hotel club providing “wholesale rates” for mid-tier to high-end hotels and resorts. They tend to list competitive rates for nice hotels, and they even have what looks like a solid best rate guarantee policy. Normally, a membership to the site is a paid subscription. However, they reached out to us to offer Frequent Miler readers a free 30-day membership and a chance to win $250 in booking credit (expires at the end of 2017) bundled with a 1-year membership to Club 1 Hotels. That sounded like a good deal to us. To be clear, we are not receiving any compensation from Club 1 Hotels — this looked like a good deal for readers, so we’re passing it on.

The Deal

Key Terms

  • Must register by August 31, 2017
  • Winner of booking credit and yearlong membership to be chosen on September 1, 2017

In order to sign up for a free 30-day membership, you can click the image or link above. That link brings you to the page pictured above. It wasn’t immediately clear to me where to click to join. If you scroll down a bit, there is a menu you can open by clicking where it says “Complimentary 30-day Membership” as shown below. That expands to reveal a “Join Now Free” link..

After that, registration was simple. While I wouldn’t suggest that Club 1 Hotels should replace good old fashioned shopping around, the first few rates I looked up seemed competitive. For example, last week I wrote about stacking a promo code and the Citi Prestige 4th night free at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. That’s an excellent deal when properly stacked. However, if you don’t need 4 nights and/or didn’t know about the promotion and/or don’t have a Citi Prestige card, rates would obviously be higher. For example, a 3-night stay (dropping off my last night) came to $339 per night on Hyatt.com last week when I wrote that post. Club 1 Hotels had the same hotel and dates for less:

With taxes and fees, the total came to $328 per night. While not a huge savings, it is a savings nonetheless. However, I assume you would not receive elite credit or benefits on the stay since you would be booking through a third party. I would probably look for a larger margin in order to justify losing credits/points/benefits. Still, for the right properties (especially those without a loyalty program), the savings can be worthwhile. Furthermore, they have what looks like a decent best rate guarantee (though I haven’t tested it):

Bottom line

Free sounded like a good price to try the site out. You don’t need to provide any credit card information, so there is no risk in signing up — and someone is going to win a $250 booking credit. Seems like a win all the way around. If you find any great deals through Club 1 Hotels, let us know in the comments.

Could really use this right now with hurricane Irma. Using all the tricks I know to get discounts on hotels, problem is i cant jump from one to the other, so after the first night i am essentially paying regular rate.

Anyone know how to get good discounts on long term stays? They don’t know when power will be back on, could be 2 weeks.

Who ended up winning this? I signed up, never heard anything…
