Giant, Martin’s and Stop & Shop grocery stores have some good gift card offers this week. You can earn 2x Gas Rewards points on Mastercard gift cards and 10x Gas Rewards points on Lord & Taylor, Cracker Barrel and Domino’s gift cards. Depending on the size of your fuel tank, that can make one or more of these deals moneymakers.

Quick Thoughts

This deal is available at Giant grocery stores and should also be available at its affiliate stores Martin’s and Stop & Shop.

If you were to buy a $500 Mastercard gift card, you’d earn 1,012 Gas Rewards points when taking into account a $5.95 activation fee. 1,000 points saves you $1 per gallon on up to 20 gallons. That means you can save up to $20 on gas which more than offsets the activation fee, making this a moneymaker. Add in credit card rewards (such as Chase Freedom which is offering 5% at grocery stores this quarter) and it’s an even better deal.

The 10x Gas Rewards points offer is also pretty decent both for personal use and, for some people, reselling. Buying a $100 gift card will earn you 1,000 Gas Rewards points, so if you can fill up with 20 gallons like I mentioned above, you’d be saving 20%.

There’s only so much scaling you can do with these offers though seeing as your savings will be limited by how much fuel you need.
