Quick Thoughts
One of the nice features of this offer is that it works on variable load Visa gift cards, so it’s not like similar types of deals at Staples and Office Depot where activation fees on 2x $200 cards eat away at nearly all the profit. Assuming that the variable load gift cards at these grocery stores are $5.95, you’ll be making $9.05, along with bonus rewards if paying with a credit card that earns more at grocery stores.
[…] Giant/Martin’s/Stop & Shop: Save $15 On Groceries When Buying $250+ Visa Gift Cards (Expires 5/2/19) […]
My local Giant had variable load $20-500 VGCs, so I bought one for $500 along with $15 in groceries. The cashier wanted me to buy the gift card separately at customer service, but obviously splitting the order wouldn’t trigger the promotion. He called a manager and she approved the sale so I could buy everything together and the $15 came off as expected.
None on display at my store for $250, just Master card.
so.. do you like buy say 250$ gc and 15$ in grocery, 265 total? and get 15$ off
Yep, that’s basically how it works. You just have to make sure you load the digital coupon to your account first.
My Stop & Shop pulled all variable load Visa & MC this past week. I have three in the area, but only checked one so far.All that’s left are $100 and under VIsa / MC and AmEx is untouched.
I think there is also a requirement to spend $15 in groceries. “Save $15 on your grocery purchase when you buy $250 in Visa® Gift Cards ($15 minimum grocery spend required)”
That’s a good point – I’ve added that requirement to the post, thanks!
I saw the same thing.
