Last year Hilton ran a popular status match promotion where they gave elite status to people who held status with competing hotel chains. Now it appears that this status match has returned, although they are now requiring proof of at least one stay in addition to proof of elite status.
The Offer
Hilton HHonors will match your status with any other hotel loyalty program. Complete the form by June 30, 2016 and get a status match with Hilton HHonors™, valid through March 31, 2018.
Key Terms
- You must be a Hilton HHonors member to participate. Join HHonors for free and return to this page to complete the form.
- Offer is valid for recipient only. Invitation and offer is non-transferable.
- To match your status with Hilton HHonors Silver, Gold or Diamond status, you must provide your Hilton HHonors account number and proof of current tier status with Starwood Preferred Guest, Marriott Rewards, IHG Rewards Club, Hyatt Gold Passport, Choice Privileges, or other hotel loyalty program by June 30, 2016. Acceptable forms of status validation include a screenshot of your current account status or your membership card.
- Acceptable forms of stay validation include a screenshot of your previous reservations or hotel receipt, redacting any personal information other than your name and membership number.
- We accept .jpg files only.
- Hilton Worldwide reserves the right to downgrade or remove individuals from the program at any time upon submitting any fraudulent documentation for validation. Must be a Hilton HHonors member to participate in the promotion.
- After registering and tier status is validated, Hilton HHonors elite tier status will be valid through March 2017, thereafter; standard tier requirements must be met to maintain elite status.
Discrepancies
As you can see, there are a couple of discrepancies in the terms. On the status match page it clearly says the status will be good through 2018, however in the terms it says 2017. Also, it says this offer is targeted, but also says you can join for free and participate. If you decide to request a match, I would screenshot the page in case they try to change the terms to eliminate the misinformation.

Same as Ali, above with not hearing back and when re-trying got the error message.
I emailed them twice about it and got no response. I also sent a PM via Twitter and while they “followed me” they never responded to my inquiry.
Seems that maybe they are not allowed to acknowledge that they are not granting it any longer… can’t otherwise explain 3 attempts at contact with no response at all other than following me on Twitter.

Link is still live as of today, 4/10. I tried to match back on 3/30. Submitted my Hyatt diamond info and never received confirmation of submission or welcome email as of 4/10. When I tried to resubmit yesterday, I received an error message that my Hilton number was already submitted. Seems broken like many other things Hilton does.
I filled out the status match on 4/3 and got upgraded to diamond status on 4/8. I used my platinum status from IHG. I was given diamond through 3/31/2018. I didn’t apply for the status match offer late last year/earlier this year.
THINKS ITS DEAD SINCE NO ONE HAS HEARD. THE WEBSITE PROBABLY GOT TAKEN DOWN SINCE IT HAD AN ERROR SAYING 2018 AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO HONOR IT , NO PUN INTENDED
I have tried for a week now to get a status match from Hilton but I am getting no results. I called the Hilton phone number and they said they were not using this website anymore. I now have to email my information in and they will offer a fast track option. Do you know if this is still active?

Is it going to be valid until March 31st 2017 or 2018? Also, is the proof of stay required for the other program or at Hilton hotel to be approved for the status match?
I’m guessing they won’t let people who took advantage of the 2016 status match to extend their status with this new “offer”?
That is my guess as well, but it doesn’t hurt to try I suppose!
