(EXPIRED) Hilton Offering Double Elite Nights On Stays Through End Of 2022

Hilton has launched a new promotion that’s giving double elite night credits on all stays through the end of 2022. That’s good not only if you’re working towards a higher level of status this year, but it could be handy for next year too as they’ll count towards rollover nights as well as towards your Milestone Rewards.

Quick Thoughts

Hilton makes it extremely easy to obtain status with them seeing as Gold status is offered by the Amex Hilton Surpass, Amex Hilton Business and Amex Platinum (both consumer and business) cards, with their top-tier Diamond status coming with the Hilton Aspire credit card. Not to mention the fact that they offer a status match program if you have elite status with other hotel programs.

Even if you already have Hilton status, this latest promotion could still be meaningful for a couple of reasons. For starters, Hilton Honors offers rollover nights whereby any elite night credits you earn in excess of your current status level get rolled over to the next year. If you currently have status courtesy of a credit card that you’re thinking of closing in the next year, those rollover nights could be useful for earning status next year.

Similar to Hyatt and IHG, Hilton also offers Milestone Rewards. Hilton’s take on Milestone Rewards awards 10,000 bonus points when you earn 40 elite night credits in a year, 10,000 bonus points for every 10 nights thereafter and 30,000 additional bonus points at the 60 night mark. This double elite nights promotion therefore makes it even easier to earn those bonus points from Milestone Rewards.

This latest promotion works out perfectly for me. We have a 10 night stay at a Hilton property coming up before the end of the year which will push me above the 40 night threshold for my first 10,000 point Milestone Reward. Those elite nights will be doubled to earn me an additional 10,000 points for no extra effort on my part beyond registering for this promo.

Note that rollover nights don’t count towards Milestone Rewards. For example, I have a total of 68 elite night credits this year, 37 of which are rollover nights from 2021. In terms of eligible nights for Milestone Rewards, that means I’m currently only at 31 nights for the year, so bear that in mind if you have a ton of rollover nights from last year but very few stays this year as you might not be quite as close to earning Milestone Rewards as it might initially appear.
