Via the Southwest Rapid Rewards Shopping portal, Horchow is offering 15 points per dollar.

The Frequent Miler Laboratory does not yet have data about Horchow, but there is some chance that buying gift cards will work despite the terms & conditions to the contrary.  Horchow gift cards can be used at Neiman Marcus, and FM Lab data shows that most purchases of Neiman Marcus gift cards do result in portal points earned.  I’ll give it a try to see what happens.

If buying e-gift cards works for getting 15X, it would be possible to get 30X by buying e-gift cards through the portal and then immediately going through the portal again to use the gift cards to buy merchandise.  Warning: This is untested with this merchant.  It’s possible that this path will lead to no points at all.

How awesome would it be if it works?  Points earned from the Rapid Rewards Shopping portal do count towards a Southwest Companion Pass.  The pass requires earning 110,000 Southwest points in one calendar year.  So, if you had your eye on about $4K worth of Horchow furniture, you could buy $4K worth of e-gift cards to get 60,000 points, then use those gift cards to buy furniture for another 60,000 points.  Done!  Once points post to your SWA account, you would have a companion pass good for unlimited flights for the rest of this year and all of next year.
