As I commented to the podcasts regarding Hyatt and Marriott, in spite of all of the benefit cuts and devaluations, Hilton revenues and net income are at record levels. Disaffected loyalty program members (in any program) do not move the revenue needle. The programs know this. The programs have no reason to not continue on their path of benefit cuts and devaluations. It’s not what we want to hear but it is the reality of the situation. Moreover, we should not expect any consumer advocacy from the government in the current environment.
Hilton Diamond – great if you are in Europe or Asia where they actually will grant upgrades and include awesome free breakfasts, worthless in the US.
As a HH Diamond, the change to a F&B credit from a legitimate free breakfast was the final factor that caused me to switch my loyalty (and paid stays) over to another brand. Even with “2 registered guests,” I am still spending out of pocket $ to cover my breakfast balance.
Should the date in the title be 2-4-25?
