How to find the Hilton flexible date calendar

6

Loyalty Lobby broke the news a few weeks ago about very open availability at the Conrad Bora Bora (we covered the news here after seeing their post, but keep in mind that the availability we saw at the time is basically gone). At the time, I noticed that one of their readers asked about how to find the Hilton monthly award availability calendar. Loyalty Lobby has since followed up with a post showing how to do it, though it’s worth noting that there is a slightly easier way with a few less steps.

If you want to find award availability at any particular Hilton property, simply type the property (or a city) into the search box at the Hilton.com home page and when entering dates, simply check the “My dates are flexible” box.

Then, under “Special Rates”, make sure you have “Use points” checked.

After you hit search, you’ll see the hotel(s) in search results with a button that says “view available dates”.

Clicking that button will bring you to a calendar that allows you to advance forward or move backward by month. In my case, I had searched for a single-night stay. The nice thing is that you can easily see at a glance when “standard room rewards” are available.

In this case, you can easily see that there are no 5-night stretches where you can take advantage of a 5th night free with standard reward nights. You could alternatively search for a 5-night stay to advance through months looking for a time when it is available (though you won’t find it right now at this particular property).

This feature has been around on the Hilton site for a long time and Hilton isn’t unique in offering it, but if you were unaware of those check boxes the process of finding award availability at high-demand properties like the Conrad Bora Bora can be quite tedious. Thankfully, the calendar seems accurate and can help you thumb through months at a time with just a few clicks of the mouse.

Does anyone know what the second number (the number next to the date) means on the booking calendar?

chris

thanks for the tip

Kate

Thanks, useful to know. And it turns out to be simple, even better.

HoKo

Can we get a post like this, showing how to show the monthly availability view, for all of the major hotel groups?

Jeff

Thanks for the useful info!

Brutus

Good tip, although I now know that I’ll never be able to book the Park City Waldorf-Astoria during the ski season. Only premium rooms are available and there aren’t nearly enough commas in my Hilton point balance to make it work.
