Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
We’ve been having so much fun traveling as a whole team, currently in Asia working through the itinerary Stephen and I put together for our portion of the competition. As a reminder, we split into two teams for a two week group trip – one team taking the reins in the first week and the second team in the second week. We’re currently in the middle of me and Stephen’s week, highlighting destinations in Asia.
All along our travels, we’ve been posting videos to our Frequent Miler Instagram. We know not everyone uses Instagram, but for those who want to and aren’t sure how to, here’s a quick post to help you out!
Finding and Watching Frequent Miler Stories on Instagram
Most of the videos and images we’re posting on instagram are visible in our “stories”. If you’re not familiar with what a story is, think of it like a scene in a short film about your day. Each day as we travel, we post videos to our stories. By the end of that day, there may be a whole collection of these short video clip “stories” to watch. Watch them while you can, because each story only lasts 24 hours (to make room for new stories.)
Here are some helpful tips for how to watch our Instagram stories.
If there’s anything we missed that you still want to learn about, let us know. We want to make sure everyone who wants to follow along through stories is able to!

Sometimes it seems like the story gets cut off when I’m watching them all together. How do I know if there’s more and how do I find the whole thing?
Instagram stories have a pretty short time limit, but they let you make longer videos (called “reels”), and then add those to your stories as short previews. If you want to watch the full thing, tap the video on the screen and a button link will pop up. Click that to go to the full length “reel”.
Or sometimes, because of the time limit, people don’t realize that their video is too long for stories and they may just not realize that Instagram didn’t have space for their full clip.
Not much to do about the latter, but for the former, I can add instructions for this into the post. Thank you!
Would also info on reels and the regulars feed.
Is it not possible to share videos to your blog or on your Facebook page? I’d love to follow along.
I agree, seems silly to mess with Instagram when they already have a blog that they could post decent length videos too.
Not familiar with Instagram, so I may miss something. When I clicked party of 5 (TYO) yesterday, I remember seeing a clip that Greg is in the airbnb pool describing the property, but it is not there any more. Did it get taken out or “each story only lasts 24 hours?” Thanks.
That didn’t get taken out – it simply “expired” after being displayed for its full 24 hours.
But luckily we collect all of these stories in a “highlight reel” where you can watch expired stories we choose to save. I’ll add instructions for how to access that shortly.
Thanks!
Your trip is so fun to follow. You and Stephen did an amazing job organizing the first few days. I bet everyone is going to sleep very soundly.
