Rakuten: Earn up to 10%/10x At IHG, Best Western, Expedia and Dell

Rakuten is back with another 10%/10x promotion for hundreds of retailers online as well as a number of in-store retailers as part of their card-linked program (the in-store options are pretty sparse). Some of their 10x promos can have a mediocre list of eligible retailers, but this latest one has a potentially decent list depending on what you need to book/buy.

Quick Thoughts

The usefulness of these promos will always depend on your spending patterns, but it seems like this latest promo is one of their better ones.

That’s because it includes:

  • IHG
  • Best Western
  • Dell
  • Viator
  • TripAdvisor

With IHG and Best Western, note that you only have to book your travel today – you don’t have to stay by tonight. It’ll track your reservations at 10x and pay out at some point after you’ve completed your stay.

You can actually double dip Rakuten with IHG/Hilton/BW points, right?

Yes of course. Rakuten takes you to their respective websites so you will collect points and nights as normal

Dell shows at 2% for be. Targeted? Confused with Dell outlet?

Nope, the cashback is on Dell Refurbished. NOT Dell Technology which is still at 2%. Dell refurbished uses different URL and checkout system. It’s different then outlet clearance items on dell.com which is same as Dell Technology.

Also, don’t make the mistake I did… Amex offer on Dell or Dell Technology doesn’t work on Dell Refurbished for the same reason above. it charges differently.

Only Dell options that come up are 2% for Dell technologies and 10% for Dell outlet. Confirmed through cashbackmonitor.

yeah 3 different things, Dell (Technologies), Dell Outlet and Dell Refurbished. They are all seperate, 2%, 10% and 10% respectively.

The Rakuten website says 2%, but with the Chrome button I got 10% to show, even when clicking through the website.

Nevermind, that stopped working for me.
