I’m running out of time. Late last year, I earned a 70 Night Milestone Reward. I had 90 days to make my selection and kept putting it off because I wasn’t sure which to pick. Now, I only have a week left and have to make a decision. Should I take 10,000 points? A Suite Upgrade Award? Or $300 FIND Experience credit?
Overview
Starting with 20 nights earned in a calendar year, World of Hyatt offers Milestone Rewards. Often these come with an automatic benefit and a second benefit where you can pick from a small list of options. At 70 nights, you get a Guest of Honor award and your choice of 10K Bonus Points, 1 Suite Upgrade Award, $300 FIND Credit, or AAdvantage Gold Status. The AAdvantage Gold Status option is new in 2025. Since I earned my 70 nights in 2024, it’s not an option for me right now.
My Hyatt account shows that I need to make my selection by March 19th:
10K Bonus Points
This is a great option because I’m 100% confident that I’ll eventually use these points and there’s no expiration date. With our Hyatt Reasonable Redemption Value currently pegged at 1.7 cents per point, 10,000 points are “worth” $170. In practice, I usually get far more value than that from my points. That said, in order to compare options like this, I prefer to look at the price I’d be willing to pay for the perk if it was for sale. I’d pay $150 for 10K bonus points.
$300 FIND Experience Credit
I wouldn’t normally be interested in this option, but $300 is considerable. Hyatt’s FIND Experiences are things like tours, cooking & art classes, shows, fitness classes, etc. Unfortunately, availability is spotty. For example, experiences are available in only 25 of the 50 US states.
If there was no expiration date on these I’d be very interested because I’m sure I’ll eventually have a chance to use the credit. But since the selection is pretty limited, I have no idea when I’ll get around to it. That said, there are a couple of interesting things about the expiration in the terms (full terms are displayed later in this post):
- FIND Credit is valid for the remainder of the calendar year in which it is issued, plus an additional fourteen (14) months.
- FIND Credit must be applied to a FIND experience booking prior to the expiration date.
With most Milestone Rewards, the expiration is relative to the date the Milestone is earned rather than when it is selected. In this case, though, it’s based on when it is selected. Since I earned the Milestone in 2024 but would select it in 2025, this FIND credit should be good through February 2027.
The second term, above, suggests to me that I would have to book a FIND experience before the end of February 2027, but it would be OK if that experience happened later than that.
Another good thing I found in the terms is that “any remaining value of the FIND Credit will be applied to the Member’s account and may be used towards future experience bookings made before the FIND Credit’s expiration date.” It’s good to know that it doesn’t have to be used all at once.
So, what would I pay for $300 in credit that must be booked by February 2027? If I had a specific good use in mind, I’d pay up to $200 or maybe even more. Without a definite use in mind, $150 is the most I’d consider paying, but I’d be more likely to be a buyer at $125 or less.
Suite Upgrade Award
While I love the value that’s possible from Suite Upgrade Awards, I don’t usually use more than 2 or 3 per year. I already have two Suite Upgrade Awards in my account that are good through February 2026 (which is the same expiration that this Milestone choice would have). Plus, I expect that I’ll earn more Upgrade Awards this year and those will be good through February 2027.
Since I’m not at all sure that I’d use the Suite Upgrade Award before it expires, I don’t value it much. This isn’t a real contender for me.
Terms
In case the terms associated with each choice are a factor, I’ve pasted them below….
10,000 Bonus Points: Members will receive ten thousand (10,000) World of Hyatt Bonus Points.
$300 FIND Experience Credit: Code redeemable for a $300 USD credit towards a FIND experience (“FIND Credit”) booked through hyatt.com/find in accordance with the terms of the FIND program, available at worldofhyatt.com/findterms. For FIND experiences booked in non-US currency, FIND Credit will be converted into the applicable currency at the then-current conversion rate at the time of booking. FIND Credit is valid for the remainder of the calendar year in which it is issued, plus an additional fourteen (14) months. FIND Credit must be applied to a FIND experience booking prior to the expiration date. Any FIND Credit not applied to a booking prior to the expiration date of the award will be forfeited. The code will be sent by email; Member must have a valid email address associated with his/her account. FIND Credit may be applied to a FIND user profile or at checkout when booking a FIND experience. (If applied at checkout, then, following initial redemption, any remaining value of the FIND Credit will be applied to the Member’s account and may be used towards future experience bookings made before the FIND Credit’s expiration date.) See World of Hyatt program terms (hyatt.com/terms) for complete details on redemption of FIND Credits.
Suite Upgrade Award: One (1) Complimentary Suite Upgrade Award is valid through the end of the year in which it was earned, plus fourteen (14) months. Valid in connection with reservations with a checkout date on or before the expiration of the award. A Member must redeem a Complimentary Suite Upgrade Award when making the underlying reservation. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are not valid at any of the Suite Award Ineligible Properties (see World of Hyatt program terms for details on these properties), Residences at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, or Hyatt Vacation Club resorts. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are redeemable only at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts that offer suite accommodations (subject to exclusions). For purposes of this award, a suite provides for one-bedroom accommodations. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are only valid for Standard Suites, defined as each participating hotel’s or resort’s introductory suite category, and are subject to availability. There are a limited number of Standard Suites available at each hotel and resort. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards cannot be redeemed for any suite type other than Standard Suites, including Premium Suites, any Specialty, Premier, Presidential or Diplomatic Suites, or similar suite categories, each as designated by the applicable hotel or resort. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are valid on nights for which the Member has paid an Eligible Rate or has redeemed points for a standard-room Free Night Award, a Club Free Night Award, or a standard-room Points + Cash Award (each as defined in the World of Hyatt program terms), up to a maximum of seven (7) consecutive nights. Not valid in connection with any Free Night Award other than those identified above.
Final Decision
If I wasn’t a blogger, I’d go for the 10K points for sure. While $300 in FIND credit could be a pretty big win, I have much more faith in getting great value from Hyatt points. That said, I am a blogger and it may be valuable for me to try out the FIND coupon so that I can report on whether it was easy to use, whether I got good value, etc. Plus, there are many ways to get hotel stays for free, but very few options for free tours and classes. So, I’m heavily leaning towards the $300 FIND Experience credit. If you want to talk me out of it, do so before March 19th. Comment below.

I picked the $300 FIND credit for P2 at 70 nights, we were going to use it for a foodie tour of Florence next week, but just had to cancel that trip, hadn’t booked to the tour, so now have $300 to burn by the end of the year. Failing anything else, we now live in Nashville, so we have local options like a whisky tasting or the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The question is, I also have to pick her 80 night award by tomorrow. I’m thinking of going with the $300 credit again since we are limited in travel this year, have a full compliment of SUAs, and the credit expires in 2027 when we should have more travel time.
As for the 10k Hyatt points, I can get that by doing $2k worth of Visa Gift cards via the Ink Cash deal of office supply stores, so the FIND credit makes the most sense as long as I use it.
Greg, when I stayed at Park Hyatt NYC in Dec 2022, my wife and I used Hyatt points through the FIND experiences options to buy tickets to a broadway show (The Lion King). I don’t recall the specific redemption value, but it wasn’t bad or I wouldn’t have done the redemption. I mention this because that might still be an option on redeeming for the FIND experience.
It’s available for certain shows. Some of those might be available at TKTS, but Hamilton is on the FIND list and it’s never available. Audra McDonald, Broadway legend, is in Gypsy, we got TKTS tickets, but they’re limited, might be worth it. The available shows seem to move around quite a bit.
I love the extra SUAs. We sometimes stay at hotels for only 3 nights and it’s a nice splurge to use those when suites are available without feeling it’s a waste and saving them for a longer stay.
For me it would be between the SUA and 10k points. Since you already have a few, and no immediate need for a 3rd, I’d go with the 10k. The FIND experience prices are way overinflated. Unless there’s a particular one that you have plans for, I wouldn’t even put that one on the radar. I mean, have you ever in your life done a FIND experience? I certainly haven’t.
When I made by choice, I reasoned the FIND was overpriced, not all that interesting options, and minimally available (at least to me). I already had a couple suite upgrade awards, so it was POINTS for me,
IIRC, you posted your point totals sometime last year and you had tons of UR and Hyatt points, so the FIND credit is probably more useful personally and for content purposes. I considered picking it myself because last year they offered a cool-sounding off-piste skiing experience at the PH Niseko, which I’ll be visiting in a few days, but it was no longer listed when I made my selection, so I took the points.
I vote for the FIND credit as well, for 3 reasons: 1) i suspect you have plenty of Hyatt (and those that can become Hyatt) points: 2) the FIND experience will make for some different blog content, whichever way it turns out; 3) during its validity period, you might come across some interesting uses (maybe in a future challenge?)
@ Greg — Oh wow, you aren’t maximizing Hyatt. It’s all about the Suite Upgrades earned from cc spend. Best thing ever since the RA glory days. The ability to stay in high-end hotel suites globally is what makes Hyatt Globalist the #1 program. We used to use 2-3 TSUs per year, but now we use 7-8.
Points. Easy one. You have too much else to track.
I opted for the $150 FIND experience credit after reaching 50 nights, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Both times I tried to use it, I encountered issues. Although Hyatt apologized and offered some compensatory credit, the process clearly needs refinement. A lesson learned, perhaps a good story for the blog!
I was in the same situation with my 80 and 90 night milestones. Since I just use 3 SUA in Japan last month I decided to wait until we returned. When I selected the fist SUA it set the expiration date as of Feb 2027 rather than 2026. I selected both SUA given the extended date of 2 years!
As someone who hit 100 nights last year, the $300 FIND credit actually came in handy in New York when I no longer needed suite upgrades nor cared for the 10K points.
Points. Easy choice.
I’ve heard that people will sometimes trade free night certificates for the upgrade certificates.
Just a thought
Do you like Broadway? The 300 FIND credits are clutch for Broadway shows. Hyatt pays a bit more than you might get the tickets for otherwise, but realistically you’re gonna get 250 dollars worth of tickets for that 300 dollar credit.
I wish I realized Broadway was an option! I have Find credit waiting to be used (a milestone choice with a specific use in mind that ended up not working out) and paid cash for Broadway tickets a few months ago. Thanks for the tip; might use it for Broadway sometimes over the next year.
I am not a blogger and my choice after 70 nights was 10k of Hyatt points. The real question is whether you are interested paying $150-$170 (the minimum value of the points you receive) for any of the experiences listed? Then there is additional hassle to find an experience to redeem. I already had a problem with redeeming my Cat 7 award till mid of this Feb because of no free time to leisure travel. I have ended up with my concierge depositing 20k to my account for the unused and expired certificate.
