Quick Thoughts
Earning 1,000 bonus points per night isn’t really going to make it worth specifically booking a stay at a hotel that’s part of The Unbound Collection, but it’s a nice reward for doing so, especially seeing as it’s valid on both paid and award stays.
The Unbound Collection includes properties such as Spirit Ridge Resort in Osoyoos, Canada which my wife and I stayed at a few months ago and adored (see my review here). It also includes Great Scotland Yard in London that Greg stayed at a few months ago which looks like a very fun place to stay. A hotel I’d love to visit – Fuji Speedway Hotel in Japan – is another property that’s part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection, so this brand has a bunch of interesting and unique properties.
You can explore a map of The Unbound Collection locations here.
I think there are only 18 “Unbound” Hyatts in the world, so this is going to be a tough 1000 points to get. But I did enjoy Hyatt’s usual virtue-signalling effort to show a “typical” couple never actually seen in the real world (much less at one of their hotels).
There are at least 15 Unbound Collection properties in the US alone. There’s probably at least a couple of dozen more around the world (you can use the map linked to in the post). That’s still not a huge number of properties, but at least double what you thought there were and many are located in popular destinations.
As for Hyatt’s “virtue-signaling” that you refer to, that’s a weird thing to be bothered by and it’s also weird to think that two people with different skin colors are never seen as a couple in the real world.

I’m also entertained by your mischaracterization of my post, and your censorship of my reply. One online censorship is 10x worse than a long pattern of corporate virtue signaling.
That was me, not Stephen. This is a site about points, miles and travel. Feel free to post anything you’d like regarding those topics, but save the the rest for other forums, please.
