Quick Thoughts
This promotion offers the opportunity to book some extremely cheap award stays. For example, there are 18 hotels in Latin America and the Caribbean that are category 1 properties.
If you can find three consecutive nights of off-peak award availability, you’re looking at a total cost of 10,500 points as the off-peak category 1 rate is 3,500 points per night. You’d then earn 5,000 points back from this promotion for a net cost of 5,500 points, or an average of just 1,833.33 points per night.
Although the terms don’t state one way or the other as to whether stays have to be paid nights, I reached out to Hyatt and they’ve confirmed that award nights are eligible too.
Note that the earning of bonus points maxes out at 20,000 points, so this promo is valid on up to 12 nights in eligible properties through April 14, 2025.
I have to book night in Mexico City from 13-17th. Does it count from the day of checkout?
13-17 of which month – October? If so, that wouldn’t count I’m afraid as you’d have to check out by the 14th, plus that would only be one night within the promo period. That’s assuming that October 14 is the actual promotion end date anyway.
Oops I meant to say July
Oh, I see. I think that you’d only get two nights towards the promo in that scenario – July 15 and July 16.
I am confident all these things will be revealed when the Oracle of Alaska speaks again.
You said you reached out to Hyatt and they confirmed point stays are included? When I reached out to them via live chat, the rep told me no. I am hoping the rep is wrong.
Also do you guys know if the booking has to be made after registration or does it apply to existing reservations as well? I am hoping its the latter.
I suspect it’s the latter as that’s how things have always worked in the past, but I’ve reached out to our rep to get confirmation.
With regards to points stays, I initially confirmed with my concierge, but we then got further confirmation from our actual Hyatt rep and so I’m confident that points stays will work.
Thank you Stephen!!
I can confirm that I just received 20K points for a 13 night all-point stay.
Stephen, you mentioned April 14, 2025 twice; but it seems pretty clear that the promo ends October 14, 2024. I think you should update: either explain where April 14 comes from or change to October 14, 2024. Thanks!
The way I read it is that the promo ends April 14, 2025 but registration closes on October 14, 2024.
From the registration page, “ Earn 5,000 Bonus Points for every 3 qualifying nights completed between July 15 and October 14, 2024, at participating hotels…
Register by September 30, 2024.”
I found that funny too. I think Hyatt’s website has a mistake that got carried over to this article
The registration page also says ‘Qualifying nights must be on stays completed by April 14, 2025 at participating hotels in Latin America and the Caribbean.’ I’d missed that they’d also listed the October 14 date though, so I’ve asked our rep what the correct promo dates should be.
I did reach out to my Hyatt Concierge and it’s:
Register by Sept 30th
Stays between July 15th-Oct 14th, 2024
