Key Terms

  •  This discount offer (“Offer”) is available to those IHG One Rewards members who have a Chase IHG Rewards credit card and who have been granted access to the discount when booking a Reward Night at a participating hotel through an official IHG online reservations site while signed into their IHG One Rewards account.

  • The Offer is for a 15% discount off the number of points needed to book a stay using points only.

  • The Offer is not available to use along with the “Fourth Reward Night Free” cardmember benefit when booking a stay of four (4) or more consecutive Reward Nights.

  • The Offer will be applied for eligible cardmembers booking three (3) or fewer consecutive Reward Nights.

  • This Offer and any redemption of points for Reward Nights are subject to the general IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions, which are available here or by visiting ihgonerewards.com.

Quick Thoughts

This is a nice little promotion if you have any upcoming IHG stays. I checked a few properties I’ve been eyeing and the 15% discounts appear to be real. I have an expiring IHG 40K free night certificate that can’t be topped off (it comes from the old no-longer-available IHG card) and a few places just dropped into the price range for the certificate, so this worked out swimmingly for me.

Unfortunately, this can’t be combined with the 4th night free benefit for those who hold an IHG card with that benefit — it is only valid on stays of 3 nights or fewer. Still, this could present a nice savings for short stays.

Thanks for this info! I cancelled and re-booked a stay in that range that will save me 5,500 points. It’s something!

Anita

Saved about 21K points for an upcoming stay, so this was good.

Word of warning: If the hotel pre-upgraded you and you cancel that stay, the room going back to inventory is the upgraded room, not the standard bookable-with-points room. So, if there are no standard rooms available anymore, there will be nothing to rebook with points.
