Quick Thoughts
If you have any upcoming paid stays at IHG properties, this is a decent deal, especially if you get the offer on the right card. My wife got the 10% offer on her Chase Sapphire Reserve, IHG Premier and Ink Business Preferred cards, while I got the 5% offer on my IHG Premier card.
My wife is still in her first year of card membership on her IHG Premier, so she’s still earning 25x when paying for IHG stays. That’s a great return as it is, but even better that she’ll now get an additional 10% back if we have a paid stay by September 14 24.
Something important to remember with this Chase Offer is that it’s only valid one time. If you’ll be booking two or more paid stays with IHG by September 14 24 and your first stay costs less, it might be best to pay for the more expensive stay on the card loaded with this offer and the cheaper stay with a different card. If you have this IHG Chase Offer on multiple cards though, it’s less of an issue because you could pay for the different stays on different cards and get the statement credit on each.
The 10% offer has a statement credit limit of $31 which means you’ll max it out when spending $310. The 5% offer has a limit of $16 back which means you’ll max it out when spending $320. If you only have one IHG stay booked by September 14 and it costs more than $310 or $320, you could split the payment across two or more cards if you have the offer on more than one card.
would buyig IHG ambassador trigger the credit?
Good question! I’m not sure as I’ve never actually purchased Ambassador membership. I suspect it would work seeing as payment would be processed by IHG. However, the payment wouldn’t be taken by an actual hotel which could potentially affect things.
Please let us know if it triggers the chase credit. You should get an email confirming that the transaction will earn the 10% back (at least that’s what I’ve experienced with other chase offers).
