Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?

Follow along here!

Through 10/20/2013:

Via the AAdvantage eShopping portal, Lands’ end is offering 10 miles per dollar for a limited time.  Lands’ End is unusual in that it does award miles when you purchase gift cards (including e-gift cards), but does not award miles when using gift cards.  Lands’ End gift cards can be used in person or online at Lands’ End, Sears, Kmart, etc.

Any credit card may be used to make purchases via the AAdvantage eShopping portal.  You do not need to use an American Airlines branded credit card.

How long does it take before purchase posts? I just purchased 2 500 cards

Frequent Miler

It can take a few weeks

I just checked my AAdvantage shopping account… I’m only getting 2 miles/dollar at Lands End. I didn’t bother checking yesterday because FM said this deal expires 10/20. Are people getting 10x right now?

Frequent Miler

It still says 10X for me. It shows 2X, but it is crossed out and replaced with 10X in a different color

Does Land’s End purchase count as 5% catalog of Chase Freedom?

Frequent Miler

I don’t know

tianyi chen

Are you sure egc purchase counts? It went to a different webpage.

Frequent Miler

It has worked for me in the past. There are no guarantees, though

Chris

Can you buy a LE gift card and then use it for any purchase at Sears (online or in store)?

Frequent Miler

Yes

Chris

So you would get credit for an egift card even though its coming from another site? I thought when the gift card came from a partner site you never got credit.

I see in the terms and conditions “Not eligible on purchases made using Lands’ End gift cards as payment method”. Any idea if that is actually true? Also would it apply to Sears gift cards?

Frequent Miler

Yes, in my experience it is true and true for Sears gift cards as well

Curtis

So one would do best buying Lands End e-giftcards this way, then using them through sears.com shopping portal earning points there, correct? If only this was on the same time as the other deals last week!

Frequent Miler

That’s correct

egift card goes to landsendstore.wgiftcard.com
will this work?
it is said “eligible only on orders placed on landsend.com”

jamie

Don’t forget that you can also plink lands end. Not sure how that works in practice, if gift cards would show up differently like it does with Sears/KMart.

Frequent Miler

No, unfortunately you can’t Plink Lands’ End since the purchase shows up as coming from Lands’ End, not from Sears or Kmart.

Gabriel E

Except Lands’ End has just been added to Plink! 75pts for $25, 175 for $50 and 400 for $100.

Frequent Miler

Awesome, I had no idea! So, you can Plink! 4% rebate per $100 gift card.
