Quick thoughts

India-based Jet Airways publishes an award chart that shows economy class pricing — business class is double and first class is triple the economy price (you can view the partner award chart here). They do have some interesting alliances — partnering with both Etihad and Emirates, Delta and American, and ANA, Korean, and Cathay Pacific — in other words, they have partners across alliances and that compete in the same markets for traffic from North America. There may be value to be found, but I’m not very familiar with their award chart. There are two things that stand out (bold is my emphasis):

  1. The Award chart explicitly says: The JPMiles shown in the above table & in the examples below are estimates only, and are subject to change. To know the exact number of JPMiles required for an Award Flight with our Partner Airlines, please send us an email at jpredemptions@jetprivilege.com
  2. They have an online mileage calculator (that includes business and first class, unlike the chart linked above) that is totally unreliable here.

I tested the mileage calculator. I was surprised to see that New York to Milan on Emirates was the same price as New York to Dubai…..or New York to Male, Maldives. So I put in XYZ for my airport code. The miles required were the same…

Jet XYZ
Make up any airport code and it seems to price the same….

However, you can determine the prices accurately using the economy class chart above. There may be some values and it’s always nice to get a new transfer partner. If you know of any Jet Privileges sweet spots, feel free to share them in the comments.
