  • Only one room at one property per stay is counted toward a member’s eligible paid stays for the promotion.
  • The 2,500 bonus Points will be awarded to the member’s Account within 10 business days after checkout and will post with the stay.
  • One bonus Elite Night Credit per each brand stay will be posted up to 6 weeks after the Promotion has ended.
  • Elite Night Credits will count only toward the status year in which they are posted.

Quick Thoughts

This new promotion doesn’t give much of an incentive to stay at Marriott properties for a lot of people seeing as the 2,500 bonus points are awarded per stay rather than per night. 2,500 points are worth ~$17.50, so it’s a decent enough return when you have a cheap one night paid stay, but it’s less impressive for more expensive stays.

Those who are trying to earn Marriott Bonvoy elite status will likely appreciate this new promotion though thanks to the bonus elite night credits on offer. However, do note that it’s only one bonus elite night credit per brand, rather than per night. That means if you book week-long stays at three different Marriott brands, you’ll only earn three bonus elite night credits rather than 21. You will earn your standard 21 elite night credits too, so in that scenario you’d end up with 24 elite night credits total.

This promotion is only valid for paid stays; stays booked with points, free night certificates, or with Cash + Points are ineligible for both the bonus points and bonus elite nights.

Marriott’s IT isn’t great and there always seem to be promotion registration issues for some people. When trying to register last night, I was getting an error message. I thought I was logged in to my account, but evidently I wasn’t. After logging in, I was able to successfully register; if you find yourself in a similar position, you might need to click back through to the registration page after logging in as it didn’t redirect back to that page for me.

If you continue having problems with registering, try clicking through from this main Promotions page. Alternatively, try registering in the Marriott app as sometimes people have success via that method when it’s not working on their website.

This is the most ridiculous promotion Marriot has ever offered, very disappointing!!! I am a current Titanium member, a lifetime Platinum with 717 nights stayed. I guess for such a bad promotion, I can start building up with Hilton as I am a Gold member with them as well.

  • A “stay” is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same property on a points-eligible rate, regardless of check-in/check-out activity, under the same one reservation or multiple back-to-back reservations.

Does this mean:
1) a stay needs to be a minimum of 2 nights? and
2) limitation on multiple back to back reservationss means that If I’m staying for a week and book 1x 3 night stay and 1x 4 night stay, they can’t be back to back bookings and there needs to be a 1 day gap between them?

I don’t understand the limitation because clearly if its a different brand then it needs to be a different hotel so why put a limit on back to back bookings?

Can we clarify if MGM stays count as a BRAND or even a qualifying paid NIGHT? They don’t say. I’m assuming NOT.

Glenn

Looks like I was wrong:

For any stays at MGM Collection properties, if I book a stay through MGM’s booking portal, will the stay be eligible for earning in this promotion? No, only stays booked through direct Marriott Bonvoy® channels at properties participating in Marriott Bonvoy®, including MGM Collection, will be eligible for promotion credit.”

So the usual rules–have to book thru Marriott app (and pay higher rates) for any points or elite night credit as you’d expect, but it does count.

P1 registered without issue.

P2 still cannot register using the many different methods (computer, app, direct link registration.). Silly Marriott IT still has issues with things like this.

Stays at a Residence Inn are not specifically excluded….nor included???

“Sorry, this promotion is not available
This could be because:
You are not eligible for it
  It has expired
You’re trying to access a miles promotion and are a points-earner, or vice versa. If this is the case, you can easily change your earning preferences.”
>My profile is set to earn points.

rxgeek

Even the app would not register me. Not enought reward to pursue it.

I cannot get it to work for me either, tried everything.

José

Dang it! My W Algarve stay is a week after the promotion ends.

I also found the T&C confusing…The website states:

A “stay” is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same property on a points-eligible rate, regardless of check-in/check-out activity, under the same one reservation or multiple back-to-back reservations.

It suggests that Marriott is attempting (through badly written language) to prevent a member booking consecutive one day reservations for the same individual at the same property to accrue additional benefits.
One would hope that a two night minimum stay would be specifically delineated.
However, hope and reality are often light years apart..

Stacey

Never mind the award stays not being eligible, what’s up with the consecutive nights language? Does that mean a stay must be a two night minimum?
