Update: This deal is un-dead. It was not coming up for a little while, but it came back. Thanks to those in the comments here and on Facebook for letting us know!
Today’s Amazon Gold Box deal is very good: Get Microsoft Office 365 Home (6-user subscription) for $99 and get a $50 Amazon gift card. While $99 is the regular price for Office 365, the $50 gift card makes this a solid deal for anyone who normally pays for a subscription. If you still have the Chase Offer to save $15 on $60 or more with 1 Ultimate Rewards point, I think you might be able to get this deal for $85 (though I’m unable to test and not positive it will work with the Amazon gift card included).
The Deal
- Get a Microsoft Office 365 Home subscription plus a $50 Amazon gift card for $99.99

Quick Thoughts
We’ve seen Office 365 go on sale for $60 now and then and even $55 at one point, but those sales don’t come around all that often. Getting the $50 Amazon gift card bundled makes this an excellent deal for those who value the gift card close to its cash value. Of course, I wouldn’t recommend buying this if you wouldn’t ordinarily buy it — and with the utility of Google Docs, I imagine most casual users may no longer have a need for an annual paid Office subscription. However, for those of us who need Office for one reason or another, this is a good deal on the subscription. I believe that you can use this to extend the expiration date of an existing subscription, but I haven’t tried it myself yet.

link directs you to the item with no gift card. I purchased the subscription in hopes that it would be somewhere after checkout but nothing. I had to call Amazon, they acted as they had no clue what I was talking about… I cancelled, I’m bummed
Updated — died again. Sorry about that. It went in and out earlier today — when it was working, it showed both Microsoft 365 and the $50 gift card on the product page (exactly like the pic in this post). Sorry it died!
I missed it too.. However, earlier today I did see the gift card.. Should have done it then but got distracted with real work..
Dead again.
Anybody get the $15 off $60 UR promo to apply?
From the comments on Amazon website, for current Microsoft managed Office 365 accounts – caution:
A word of warning. This product includes an Amazon Office 365 subscription, not a code for the Microsoft Office 365 site. If you have an existing account with Microsoft then you will have to move all of your cloud documents across to the new Amazon managed account.
I am guessing that the contents are the same but you cannot use this to extend your existing Microsoft Office 365 subscription. The subscription will be automatically added to your Amazon account.
However…this is directly below the above comment:
This was a great deal; it added one year to my existing Office 365 account with no issues, extending me into January 2020. I did not have to move any of my files and I continue to use the same OneDrive.
The purchase does work to renew an existing subscription.
has anyone tried to extend an existing subscription with this?
See my other earlier reply. Won’t work for Microsoft managed subscriptions.
I just purchased and it worked for renewal. All you have to do is go into Digital Subscriptions and licenses on Amazon and copy the key. The go to Office 365 and enter the key and voila…one additional year added.
worked for me too, thanks!
You’re welcome!
Awesome — thanks for the data point! I had seen comments both ways, but this explains how it has worked for some (others likely didn’t know to do this). Good to know for the future!
Still available. Just bought one no problem.
Thanks! Updated the post to reflect that it’s available again (it wasn’t showing up a while ago).
Seems like its gone. Link directs to Office 365 for $70.
Bummer. I just marked it dead – thanks for commenting.
It is still available
