Quick Thoughts
Office Depot ran a similar deal last year, although that one included Happy Guy and Happy Lady as eligible cards. This limited selection of Happy brands can still be useful though thanks to the inclusion of the Happy Her brand. Happy Her cards are eligible at Bed Bath & Beyond and can be used to buy other third party gift cards, effectively saving 13.33% on any brands sold there when bought with this deal at Office Depot. The third party gift card selection at Bed Bath & Beyond might vary by store, but I’ve seen Visa gift cards, eBay, Shell and more at stores I’ve visited in the past.
Last year’s deal had an added bonus as Office Depot was offering a free Google Home Mini when spending $150+ at the time. I’m not sure if it was intended, but you could get one free when buying $150+ of gift cards, so the two offers stacked with each other. That was a great deal, especially if you had a Chase Ink Plus or Ink Cash card that earns 5x/5% at office supply stores. Let’s hope they run a similar promotion again this year.
I used a $150 Happy Her card to buy 3 $50 Disney gift cards at BB&B. I made sure to not show the cashier how I was paying before checking out. I swiped my Happy card and got it out of sight within 2-3 seconds. It looked like the cashier was trying to see how I paid, but everything processed as expected.
I tried today to use the Happy Her card @ BBB for an ITunes card and the clerk said I could not use it.
I couldn’t use my Happy Her at BBB. Cashier wouldn’t allow.
I would just try back sometime when there’s a different cashier. I got away with using Happy Her cards at 2 different BB&B stores today. Each time I bought 3 $50 Disney gift cards. I didn’t show the cashier the card. I just got it out at the time to pay, swiped it, and quickly got it out of sight. I didn’t have any trouble either time.
I’m pretty sure that BB&B had a rebate deal during the middle of December last year for a $10 BB&B gift card with the purchase of $50 worth of 3rd party gift cards with a limit of 10 rebates per person. If you plan to use the Happy Her cards to buy gift cards there, you might want to wait and see if they run the same deal this year.
Only $15 discount is coming up on register. Is anyone else having this issue?
Do you know if it would work with the Happy “Local” Eats version? Or is the reg. coded to not allow for that one? Thanks.
I doubt it as they list these specific four brands. The discount would be taken off before paying though, so you could test it out and then cancel the transaction if it doesn’t give the discount.
These are useless.
Can you buy GCs at BB&B.com with the HappyHer card?
Yes, you should be able to.
Are we talking about BB&B gift cards or 3rd party? I believe the latter are sold by cashstar, so doubt it would work.
Sorry, I misread your question – I missed that you were referring to the website rather than in-store. eGift cards are processed by CashStar like veeRob mentioned, but physical gift cards that are shipped to you appear to be processed by BBB and so the Happy Her card should work for that.
Thanks for the clarification. Do you know if there is a shipping charge for physical Gas?
Yes, you get free standard shipping.
Great find, thanks! It’s been a few years since BB&B for me, anyone know if they sell Amazon GCs? Could be a great way to stock up on Amzn credit.
I’ve never seen Amazon gift cards in the stores I’ve been to, but it’s probably been 6+ months since I last went to one and so they might stock them now.
