Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?

Follow along here!

If you have United MileagePlus Premier status and you’re flying through Newark airport’s Terminal C in the next couple of days, you might be able to score a free meal at a number of restaurants that use an iPad ordering system. It’s a little unclear as to how this one is targeted and we don’t know when it will expire, but if you’re traveling through Newark with United status, you might be able to get a free meal.

The Deal

  • United premier members may be eligible for a $30 dining credit at select restaurants at EWR airport’s Terminal C (see the list below) when ordering via an iPad ordering system and scanning their boarding pass

Quick Thoughts

It looks like this popped up as an ad from United on Instagram and reports indicate that it is being billed as a “gift from United for the holidays”, so it’s anybody’s guess how long it will last. I’m not sure there is a way to check if you’re eligible before placing your order, so it might be a gamble.

That said, it sounds like it is pretty simple. If you’ve got United Premier status and you’re flying through Newark’s Terminal C, you’ll have to go to one of these restaurants with iPad ordering systems:

  • Abruzzo Italian Steakhouse
  • Caps Beer Garden
  • CBGB L.A.B.
  • DAILY
  • Flora Café
  • Happy Clam
  • Little Purse
  • Melange Bakery Cafe
  • Nonna’s Meatball Café
  • Oeno Wine Bar
  • Proof Whiskey Bar
  • Riviera
  • Saison
  • SURF
  • Tacquila
  • Wanderlust Burger Bar

The ad for this promo (which you’ll see pictured in the posts under the hat tips below) says that you simply have to scan your boarding pass to get the credit. That sounds to me like perhaps you scan your boarding pass before you order? If that’s the case, perhaps you’ll find out about the credit before placing your order. It does say it is one use per customer and a comment from today (12/28/18) at Angelina Travels indicates that this is still alive today, so it might be worth a shot if you’re traveling through and you intend to eat at one of those restaurants.

Yes I got the credit last week. EWR restaurants have the iPad ordering systems in the United Terminal, so you scan your boarding pass before you order. You may be able to bypass the scan to order quicker.

United 1K (not sure it matters)

UA PREMIER status is any elite status level or 1K?

GUWonder

Any UA elite status, including but not limited to UA Premier 1K. So it’s eligible UA*S and UA*G passengers.
