Qatar Qsuites is widely regarded as one of the best business class products in the sky and awards are currently wide open in January and February 2021 for two passengers from New York (JFK), Atlanta, and Miami, (and decently available out of Boston and other cities) to Doha (and beyond). While we’re all socially isolating at the moment and nobody knows for sure when life and travel will return to normal, we can all at least hope that COVID-19 has passed by then to make travel possible again.
The Deal
- Business class awards in Qatar Qsuites are widely available in January and February 2021 from several US Gateways
Availability & Booking
- Search for availability at AA.com
- Widely available in January and February 2021 from New York, Atlanta, and Miami for 2 passengers. Also available on select dates from other US cities.
- Book via American Airlines AAdvantage for 70K to the Middle East or 75K to Africa.
Quick Thoughts
In the comments on Greg’s post this morning about routes with ride open premium cabin availability, reader Troy mentioned that Qsuites is widely available in January and February.
Notable here is that Qsuites are wide open from New York, Atlanta, Miami and more to Doha in January and February 2021. Your best bets for booking those flights are via American Airlines AAdvantage. American charges 70K miles + $7.65 one-way in business class to the Middle East, or you can continue on to South Africa (or other Qatar destinations in Africa) for 75K + $15.70 one-way.
Note that Cathay Pacific Asia Miles would charge 75K to Doha and 90K beyond, but they add about $666 in taxes and fees, making American the better option.
Availability is pretty wide open in January and February 2021. Here’s a look at availability for 2 passengers from New York to Doha in January:
And 2 passengers from New York in February 2021:
Awards are also decently available out of other US gateways, including Miami to Doha:
And Atlanta to Doha:
You won’t find quite as much availability out of Boston, Chicago, Dallas, but some dates are available.
Again, we don’t know for sure that travel will be available and advisable by January /February, but that is far enough out to consider booking. Keep in mind that American will let you change dates and routing within a year of the date of booking as long as origin and destination don’t change, so you could theoretically change these as far out as a year from today if availability permits. We can all hope that COVID-19 and social isolation will have passed by then.

If AA hadn’t closed my account and stolen my miles I’d be jumping on this.
Thanks for the article! I’m just curious how difficult/easy to get 3 Qsuites to MLE OW on QR for next June. I am out of SFO, but I might need a reposition flight. I know that I have to wait a few more months, before I can start searching for availability. I just would like you guys’ opinion.
