Another week, another 10x promo from Rakuten. This latest edition includes IHG, Best Western, Groupon and several other travel sites, but only for select categories in some cases.

10% cashback or 10x Membership Rewards is always a solid deal. There are 240 stores offering 10%/10x or more, with the following being part of the travel category:

Rakuten 10x travel

There’s something important to note with several of these though. Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity and TripAdvisor are all 10%/10x for activities only; other booking options like car rentals and cruises are payable at much lower rates.

If you’re planning on booking with IHG and/or Best Western, it’d also be worth checking Capital One Shopping. I received an offer for 15% cashback for IHG via email the other day, while I also got an offer for 13% cashback for Best Western about two weeks ago via email. I’m not sure if that Best Western link is still valid, but check your email, the desktop site and Capital One Shopping app to see what they offer you as all three methods tend to have different rates.

I am only seeing 5% on IHG (in the app and desktop). Could this be targeted?
