Rakuten is offering “3x Cash Back” at many stores for Memorial Day weekend (May 23-25, 2020). Given that you can alternatively earn Membership Rewards points via Rakuten, some of these payouts could certainly be interesting if you’re planning to make purchases at any of the included stores this weekend.

Quick Thoughts
Dell at 10% / 10x back could be particularly useful for those with Dell credits to use from the Business Platinum card. Other stores may present some deals, but be sure to shop around via Cashbackmonitor.com to make sure you’re getting the best rate.
If you’re not yet earning Membership Rewards points through Rakuten, keep in mind that it’s easy to change your earning preferences.
So triple cash back, would that equal 18% on say Nikes 6% or how does it work?
No. If it says 6%, it’s 6%. They’re calling it “triple” as though it was 2% before (though that may be more marketing than truth, YMMV)
Definitely, Nike was 7% yesterday now 6% today it hasn’t been 2% in like a month. A few weeks ago it was 12%. I’ll be passing on this purchase.
Do you have to go through dell.com/amex to get the 10% back from AMEX or can you go through Rakuten and still get that and the Rakuten 10%? Also, what about going through dell.com/amexbiz? I have an offer for 4 additional points per dollar through that link. Thanks for any insight!
No, you can go through Rakuten. I did on a purchase earlier this month and got the 10x from Rakuten plus triggered both offers.
Cool. Thanks!
Perfect timing, still have the 10% off Dell offers and extra 1MR offers on our Biz Plats, missed this past deal. This will help with ROI on those biz plats.
Anybody buying from Dell and trying to get the credit in before May ends, make sure you pay attention to the shipping arrival date or else the charge will sit as pending on your card if it’s too far out.
The Dell credit goes to the end of June.
Oops I stand corrected. I guess the data point makes sense if people see this. Thanks!
