Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is almost done! The last two weeks Greg, Nick, and Stephen competed to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines. But who completed the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
There are new offers out from both Citi Merchant Offers and American Airlines Simply Miles that might stack for savings and additional mileage earning on stays at Holiday In or Holiday Inn Express. You’ll need to check to see if you are targeted, but these could make for a nice potential stack if you are.
The Deal
- There are new Citi Merchant Offers out for Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express that are each good for $20 back on $100 or more.
- There are also American Airlines Simply Miles offers out for both Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express that each offer 935 miles after spending $100 or more on a linked card.
- You may be able to stack both offers if you successfully sync both to the same card
Key Terms
- Each offer expires on 10/31/23
Quick Thoughts
If you have a stay coming up at either Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express, it obviously makes sense to sync these offers up to stack more savings / return on spend.
In the past, I believe that SimplyMiles and Citi Merchant Offers for IHG brands have stacked properly. I think there have been some situations where offers did not stack properly between SimplyMiles and Citi Merchant Offers (or where the offer would disappear on one end after synced on the other), but I believe that the stack has worked on this one before. If you have experience either way, please share it in the comments.
Do be sure to sync up your Citi Mastercard with your SimplyMiles account so that both offers get synced to the same card.
Might want to note in the post: “Offer valid at Holiday Inn Express properties in the US.”
The simply miles offer says “Only U.S.-issued Citi Mastercard Credit Cards are eligible”. Is this new? I thought simply miles was supposed to be any mastercard?
I came back to this post I saw some days ago exactly to ask this. I thought that SimplyMiles was ‘Issuing bank agnostic’ and the only requirement was to add US issued Mastercard CC’s. I canceled a reservation with Marriott and made one in a Holiday Inn just because of the 935 miles but I don’t have a Citi Mastercard. Today I planned to book a HIE to take advantage of the promo and decided to re read the terms and saw exactly that.
Can’t stack these anymore. Figg (the offer backend operator) fixed double-dipping. For that matter you also can’t use Bing Rebates with either of these
Today IHG 2x AAdvantage eShopping or 5x Rakuten (AMEX MRs). Direct booking so IHG points too.
If Citi Premier has this Merchant offer then 3x TYPs. Could all that stack with Simply Miles?
If you add the offer on Simplymiles it will disappear from Citi and vice versa. Citi seems to have fix the double dip.
I successfully activated the Simply Miles offer and enrolled in the Citi Merchant offer. Both showing.
Please login again on your Simplymiles and check after adding Citi merchant offer. For me it disappeared from Simplymiles
You are correct, Holiday Inn Citi Merchant Offer changes from enrolled to “see details” after refresh.
I think its OK if you do the Citi Merchant Offers first. I did it in this order for Holiday Inn. When I did it in the opposite order for Holiday Inn express. Simply Miles deal disappears.
Could you also go through the Rakuten portal for a triple stack?
