I believe that physical gift cards (not e-gift cards) purchased through portals still result in points earned, but I don’t have recent experience to prove it.
still doesn’t answer Joshua’s question. I did the KMart 9pts/$ last month and it hasn’t tracked yet
BTW, back in 2012, SW had 15X sears. I bought 3750 (X16 = wait for it…60,000 points) to get companion pass. Liquidated at Kmart for 100 Visa GCs @ 6.95 per. Cost me $260 to get companion pass for year (37.5 X 6.95)!
I have used GC at my Kmart to buy Amazon GC. Got gas discount. YMMV. Very store specific on whether they allow buying GCs with GCs. Not hard coded in my area.
